I wonder if benco will be on the “great places to work” list next year after all this. o_O

What I have heard is that Burkhart has already let go of a rep that came from Benco because Chuck had enough evidence that they had violated the 90 days sit out. Depending on the state, check the rules and play within the lines. Chuck, Shivetts, and the rest are out for blood spending time in the field visiting accounts of reps that have left. Reps are leaving because Benco isn’t what it used to be and Chuck and the rest of the crew are sore losers and trying to screw anyone they can.

YesI have heard this too. I was told that so long as you aren’t actively violating your non compete burkhart is in their corner legally. But if it comes down to pure recklessness, they won’t be able to. Burkhart far too conservative to go into a battle they know they can’t win. So just play by the rules, there are ways around it to make sure your accounts go with you. Be smart and whatever company you choose will know what is/isn’t allowed in your state or consult an attorney.

Can attest to hearing this same scenario with one being let go for violating

I have talked to several reps in multiple regions. All say the same thing. Reps are leaving or are going to leave. One of my friends is the only rep in his state and it is a big state. His Eq specialist is worthless. Kari is driving all this turnover. Company is not going to 1 Billion. Manager are pushing business with out regard to margin but we are paid on margin! Work more and make less!

I wrote this in January of 2018. It is now coming true. By the way, the non compete is a bitch. They can and will enforce the non solicit for 1 year. Even if they fire you! Benco and Chuck suck!

Is Benco really going after the reps that leave?

yes, but if you are fired, this is really difficult for them to fight. Most states have a right to work policy meaning that if you lose your livelihood because of being let go, you DO have the right to work and your non compete isn’t valid. Just watch those severance packages, there may be verbiage in there that says if you agree to the severance package that you cannot work for a competitor for up to a year. Call around to some local attorneys in your area and get a free consultation, cover all your bases and know your rights.

they are, but it sounds like they don’t have much of a case other than the one who Burkhart preemptively let go when it was apparent he had violated. Just play by the rules and stay out of your accounts for whatever amount of time is listed on your noncompete. Competitors have a plan for this (as did we) when bringing on reps from other distributors.

Honestly, i think the moves made were needed. Every department, every region has 1 or 2 that need to go....

It’s been a bad year, but getting past the lawsuits will help. You take that portion away we are doing fine.

Spoken like a regional manager or director trying to diffuse the situation and stand up for chuck. Rah rah benco style. “We are doing fine” GO BENCO.

Really? How? Until we stop getting rid of producers, until we start giving those that are hired to produce the tools needed to do so then maybe you should exit stage left. Take the bitter divorced buffet loitering "trainer" with you too. Sheesh, "management" which obviously includes you just don't get it. I'd say grow a set but it's obvious your such a sellout you'd just cede them to Chuckie anyways. Btw there's a difference between managment and leadership though that's a concept obviously lost on you to, sorta like honesty.

Communication on this was shitty. Announce it in teams and then show a list of the people canned in the weekly update? Shitty. So far no local communication about this. Shitty. This whole company is shitty.

George Rable seems like a very good dude so I think he was force into trying to keep it as low key as possible. The region won’t bring it up unless you got a good RM who cares but then again they (the good RM) have all been fired or left on their own.
