Why Avise MCV is GONE

Have any of you questioned the real reason that MCV is no longer being promoted by our salesforce? Here are some logical explanations from those in the know:
    1) Avise MCV far outsold Avise PG 2:1, it was being used by many Rheumatologists early
    on.
    2) Insurance companies had an issue with reimbursement of "another" RA test, especially
one that was not much better than the gold standard RF and other numerous RA
    tests that are available.
    3) Therefore, Cypress felt if we focused on the uniqueness of the Avise PG test we
would stand a better chance for reimbursement and profit, since it is more expensive.
    4) Cypress didn't understand that Avise PG isn't necessary, we try to create a need but
the truth is - any savvy Rheumatologist knows it is a bag of shit being sold. There
are other tests that measure Mtx, but not the polyglutamates (active form of Mtx)
    5) Cypress is finding that their strategy of pushing Avise PG as unique, that would
somehow seperate their tests from the rest is far reaching.
    6) Avise PG continues to grow slightly, however the expenses far exceed the revenue
generated by Avise. by about 10:1, this is no way to run a business and the BOD
knows it, JK knows it and changes will HAVE TO BE MADE. It cannot and will not
    continue with this strategy.

    Bad planning = Bad results

Spare us the management that will come on here and call us "babies" or say "we cannot sell the test because we are not true salespeople" You show your own ignorance, you hand selected us as the best candidates for the job. At some point you will have to take personal responsibility for failure - this is the only way for a company to improve is admitting mistakes and learning from them.
Many of us salespeople would have so much more respect for PS, BB and the rest if they would be big men about their far-reaching expectations.

We are admitting our failures, specifically in the people we hired. You will see changes, thats a promise. We extended offers to quickly and overstepped obvious bad hires. We are now paying the price with 20% of you not contributing. This will change, the change that all of you beg for is here, and you will be relieved of your misery with a ticket to the door! NOW go try and sell something while you are still here, for a short time. The right rep for this job is a 20 something for a 50k base and free car, we know we missed the boat on this, but will clean up this outfit and replace with cheaper, leaner, more hungry talent. You wish will come true.

You make a few decent points but are clueless on others. What makes you think it is BB or Horsey that has the misguided expectations? Neither one of them has any diagnostic exp. or diagnostic background. They are pure pharma through and through so they have no clue about avise pg or mcv, why would they? This rx dx model was brought over by MW and was the prometheus model, which is and was a failure and this bs about getting more face time with md's because we are pushing a test instead of a pill is ludicris, also from MW and promo not frenchy and Horsemouth.

No one has mentioned the fact that the vast majority of the tests (more than we claim) come back negative.

at least you are telling the truth that it is a CSO position. so please have the recruiters stop telling candidates "this is a true specialty position" (bullshit) and you will not work in a POD (big bullshit)
Also they want someone who has not been out of pharma for over 3 months
and who currently doesn't work in a pod (STUPID) as they will work in a Mega Pod here at cypress. Which BTW will shortly come to an end when Forest decides that they are not getting any extra sales of Savella from our measly 90 sales reps, no impact there.

IMO MW over hyped the DX expectations. No matter where you look *(Cypress,
Genoptix, and/or Sequenom) all companies in the more esoteric areas of diagnostics struggle. Whether it be from a lack of managed care coverage or slow adoption by MD's. Maybe all these companies are ahead of their time, but in this current climate they will continue to struggle.

it is possible they are ahead of their time, but getting past the initials struggles withouth the managed care, slow adaption, etc., will bury the company before they can get the DX part of the business out of debt.
no company is here to lose money year after year.

to the poster above, do not give horsey or french a free pass. in their arrogance they have continued to miss the mark on teaming up with labs, managed care or thought leaders that make a difference besides mease (who ironically never uses the test) some endorsement.

Avise MCV and Avise PG are toast, history.
No company can afford to keep running a ridiculous test
and accruing debt day after day. the notion is laughable.

Avise francise will be gone shortly.

Spot on. the job description and hiring prereq's are bogus for what this job is. Looking back at this now after being in this war for a year it is an utter farce what this TSS job is advertised and "said it is" versus what it really is......

he he remember what a farce that was? even if we had physicians sign up for the freebie PG tests, many didn't follow through because we lack the phelbotomy places to draw for the dam tests.

managers get off your lazy do nothing ass and go after the lab business regionally, and MCs. these calls are too time consuming to negioate lab business and are not counted as part of the 9 calls a day. make yourself useful instead of following us around every 3 weeks checking off sheet on the FCR that doesn't matter.

Dear DMs what the hell have you DONE to generate business in your district? I hear more than one of you is looking for a new job too.

'checking off sheet on the FCR that doesn't matter"

Oh it matters, Mr. How else do you think they are able to can yo' ass ! That 'AT WILL' employment is a bitch.

Particularly, if you've been getting great FCRs and then, all of the sudden one day, you suck- and the monkey DM notes as much in the FCR. PIP soon to follow, with accompanying ridiculous goal, then Bye Bye in 30 days....

FCR do NOT MATTER in building business, merely a tool for documenting against a rep and managing them out.

Not one of the DMs at Cypress use FCRs as a means for training or improving business.
Most of the DMs here need a good FCR and training on how to be an effective leader.

TRUST ME FCR'S MATTER!! MANY DM'S HERE USE THE FCR AS THE TOOL TO REMOVE REPS. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE WE WERE HIRED. I SUGGEST YOU READ THOSE LIKE YOU ARE READING A MORTGAGE NOTE- YOUR JOB HEDGES ON WHAT BS IS PUT IN WRITTING ON YOUR FCR. I CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW NAIVE SOME CYPR REPS ARE? NO WONDER

"make yourself useful instead of following us around every 3 weeks checking off sheet on the FCR that doesn't matter."

FCR?!? Not sure what district you work for, but many of us haven't seen a FCR since Q1 2009. We'd all love to know what these managers are doing with their time and how we can be "judged" by these documented FCRs when we don't even get one for 6 - 8 months after the fact, if at all. Another complete failure on the party of Cypress. What a joke.

who is the clown on here who thinks that FCR doesnt matter, u are a fooled and should be fired just for being so dumb. The Fcr is the strongest tool that cyr uses to move reps in our off the boat to the glory island. Dms are very sneaky about what they put in those as a general rule, if you see conjecture and bs being dropped in, you know its coming from the RD to tighten up the screws on the rep and make sure they dont have an excuse clause.

ditto inconsistent- sounds like the entire company isn't on the same page. fwiw, i understand what the poster is saying that the worth with reports have not grown our business - if used merely a tool to rid the company of someone but a total waste of time.
