Who doesn't know about diabetes? I just gave you a link to a website that clearly shows the extremely high correlation between obesity and diabetes and thereby demonstrating the ignorance of your statement about diabetes.

Are you this stupid or are you just playing? I'm thinking it's Fo' Real!

I understand the basic and fundamental fact that there is a high correlation between the rate of diabetes and obesity. It's apparent you don't understand.

You select the elements of the picture that suit your simple puerile logic. Keep coming homeboy, this is good sport

America's waistline continues to expand, according to a study published today in The Lancet. The obesity epidemic remains the biggest public health issue facing the country, and despite awareness of the need to get in shape, more than a third of the country is now obese.

More than half of the 671 million obese people in the world live in 10 countries, and America tops the list.

    Type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes (formerly called non-insulin-dependent or adult-onset) results from the body’s ineffective use of insulin. Type 2 diabetes comprises 90% of people with diabetes around the world (5), and is largely the result of excess body weight and physical inactivity.

    Any questions moron?

You makeup elements of the picture that are just flat-out wrong and suit nothing... "Did you know that less than half of all T2 diabetics are obese?"

    This isn't even fun, Cornholio.

Since you appear to lack the intelligence to follow basic logic, let me make this even more simple for you. The USA is the most obese country in the world. Obesity is tied to shorter life expectancies, for a number of reason's including diabetes... Any questions?

Other countries don't have to deal with this epidemic... Understand?

    Poor you.

"...eighty six percent of patients with type 2 diabetes were overweight or obese, forty nine percent were obese, and nine percent were morbidly obese..."

Although there are genetic and hormonal influences on body weight, obesity occurs when you take in more calories than you burn through exercise and normal daily activities. Your body stores these excess calories as fat. Obesity usually results from a combination of causes and contributing factors, including:

Inactivity. If you're not very active, you don't burn as many calories. With a sedentary lifestyle, you can easily take in more calories every day than you use through exercise and normal daily activities.
Unhealthy diet and eating habits. Having a diet that's high in calories, lacking in fruits and vegetables, full of fast food, missing breakfast, and laden with high-calorie beverages and oversized portions all contribute to weight gain.

If you're obese, you're more likely to develop a number of potentially serious health problems, including:

High triglycerides and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol
    Type 2 diabetes
    High blood pressure
Metabolic syndrome — a combination of high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol
    Heart disease
    Stroke
Cancer, including cancer of the uterus, cervix, endometrium, ovaries, breast, colon, rectum, esophagus, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidney and prostate
Breathing disorders, including sleep apnea, a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts
    Gallbladder disease
Gynecologic problems, such as infertility and irregular periods
Erectile dysfunction and sexual health issues
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, a condition in which fat builds up in the liver and can cause inflammation or scarring
    Osteoarthritis
Skin conditions, including poor wound healing
