What is the likelihood that our sales force survives (in any capacity) once the merger is final? Amazing that our team hasn't heard an ounce of communication from leadership. What a colossal mess.. Any intelligent thoughts?

Call Art D or one of his people. He may not have all the answers but he's open and honest.

Yes, all of the other honest managers already left and were replaced by big pharma "yes" men. Not an original thought among them.

No one knows what the outcome will be for us. Up to Cubist now. Don't listen to rumors when making your decision.

CBST announced deal will be accretive to earning in the first qtr after closing. That means very few, if any, Optimer employees will be brought over. They will sell with their existing sales force.

An article came out 8/1 which you can find on the Yahoo news feed for Optimer. Article is Cubist Pharmaceuticals: 2 Promising Deals to Bolster Future Pipeline.

    The referenced quote is below.

The deal has been approved by the board of both companies and is expected to be accretive in the first quarter after closing. The deal is furthermore subject to regulatory approval and normal closing conditions.

You have a new savior in the Philly district and she will do whatever it takes to get the business!! Once a despised and hated Optimer contract rep, now a ruthless, bitter woman with too much makeup, who despises all other women and has a superiority complex! Also, a published author and hoping to get her PH.D from University of Phoenix. Please welcome L.A. to the field.

I can't believe this question is being asked. Haven't you been in this industry long enough to know that you won't know anything until it happens? Good Lord, if you are financially sound and want to risk it, hang tight. But if not, it may take you 6 months or longer to find a job. Start looking now.....you might find something by Christmas.

A good new job is a far better future then a few extra weeks pay from a dying unrepeatable firm. Start looming and get the heck out !! There is no benefit to staying if you have half a brain.

Right on. Before the announcement they told you how much money you were leaving on the table if you left the company. That turned out to be a bunch of $%^#!

Now it's an email asking you to remain focused and create value for yourself.

Next it's a dog and pony show by two people who had disappeared for that last 4 months coming to talk to the regions. Going try and get you to stay.

The bottom line to me is that if Cubist/Optimer does not come out quickly with a retention bonus or some other significant sign that we will either be retained or that staying buys us more than a few months of severance then it's full steam ahead looking for the next thing.

If they don't show anything significant then the writing is on the wall. JMO

Thanks Hank!! Go back to the rock you came from in Montana. Who needs a CEO like you who does not care about people. Ego is a dangerous thing.

Well said- recruiter said she's spoken to at least 100 people from Optimer in the past week- The reality is- we are adults- a dog an pony show filled with corporate rhetoric is going to be a waste- and; the people doing the show- could announce their resignation next week.
People want a clear answer, not hot air.
