You want to know what’s wrong with engagement and culture?

I am not quite sure what leadership expects with getting the PLT in a room to discuss the culture and engagement issue. It might be helpful to talk to the people in the trenches. Just to name a few: why are we saying one of our core values is around developing talent and then we post positions externally (seen this in Business Insights and Oncology most recently)? Why are people selected for roles before people have an opportunity to interview? People are openly talking about how miserable they and there is little opportunity. Why are we training our MBA candidates only to not have entry level roles available to them (and we don’t treat them well) - so they leave? Why are we encouraging manipulative “leaders” to hold power in this organization killing culture and careers. Please leadership wake up and DO SOMETHING! I am sure people can share more they are just too scared and it’s sad.

It is very disappointing to see what upper management has done to this company. I left Bayer about 5 years ago for a management opportunity elsewhere rather than wait for an opportunity here. It was a very difficult decision at the time; but proved to be a very good one as I have recently been promoted to second line management. At the time I left I was a Future Leader and had recently completed the Future Leaders Program. This was by far the best management prep course I have ever taken as it prepared me very well for leadership roles. Has this program been eliminated?

Future Leaders has been gone since JS came. They had something similar and let all the Conceptus people they thought had better value into that program. There hasn't been anything now for a couple of years development wise that is widely known. Honestly, you are only going to get fast tracked if your resume says 'J&J'.

If your resume says J&J or Janssen, you get to pick what job you want and your interview process is a breeze bc your fellow J&Jers are stacking the deck in your favor to make it impossible for you NOT to get hired. Even if that means screwing over loyal, tenured emerging leader sales reps or RBMs

Then, after a J&J person is hired they get to tell everyone that working for J&J and being friends with leadership had nothing to do with them being hired.

It’s like a really bad episode of Seinfeld where something is so obvious that everyone ignores it and makes a joke about it.

They will get the message when round 2 of WHC reps leave in July after yet another half of making no bonus. Let the J&J reps try to replace relationships that have been around for 20 years when we have a competitor. I wanted to retire with this company but I can't support my family anymore.

Probably not. Their heads are so far in the sand. CSSs and RBMs cant get out fast enough. Somehow leadership is positioning it as the embodiment of growing talent. They don’t see whats right under their nose. So sad.

RBMs and CSSs are leaving WHC bc of incompetent leadership at the ABD level and above + blatant cronyism and nepotism with J&J. End of story.

Anyone know who the FL Rbm will be? Another J&J buddy perhaps?

Thank you OP for having the guts to post that. Unbelievable what is happening here and HR is turning a blind eye to it over and over again. People are afraid of retaliation because they are seeing it happening to others and nothing gets done.

what is wrong with engagement and culture can be summed up by the RBM call today. LW is Clueless about everything. Less, really? Your response is to say everything was put in place before you got here.

we have to keep hiring from big pharma companies. those are the reps that will get in line and click, click, click on hubble. Clicking on hubble and pre call planning are going to revolutionize this division

SUCCESS!!!!! Clicked on hubble and precall planned like a champ. Haven't sold anything for a week but that is okay because leadership doesn't care about that. They only need Hubble to succeed.

Why in the heck are we having so many conference calls? I don't need to roll play how to discuss the new "give ya a free one if you screw up and don't verify benefits" program! Seriously! Pathetic. Maybe the J&J reps didn't have college degrees and didn't know how to communicate.
