this is about the longest stretch we’ve gone without rumors...

 

I am hearing that we won’t make the 4% because sales are off. Planning has started on looking at areas where outsourcing didn’t go far enough. Leadership is targeting the stay behind shadow organizations. Instead of having Amgen watchers and outsourced doers, they are looking to reduce the ratio from 1:1 to 1:10 or 1:20. They are studying industry benchmarks now.

 

What do you mean by ratio?
Has anyone heard about labs moving out of ATO?
Or reducing the number of buildings?

 

i think they mean that there are large shadow organizations micromanaging the outsourced providers. Reducing these organizations could reduce costs and may make the CW organizations more effective.

 

Don't forget Accenture, one-off consultants and the FTO/RDO. I think if the FTO ran the place they'd solve everything ..... they put real consultants to shame with all their wonderful projects that sometimes get rebranded and recycled over and over (sometimes 3x in the same year) bringing joy to the employees.

 

They'd win top place in the US toxic companies list. If you like to be blamed or hone your blaming skills work here. If you like to revisit the same thing over and over again and participate in inane meetings where decision making does not exist then work here. If you like leaderless companies work here. If you want to be bored and live in a cookie cutter bubble where Amgen is the town center and everywhere you go outside of work you'll see a colleague then work here. If you want to burn out from madness and question the meaning of life work here.

 

Definitely selling off buildings slowly and quietly. The refurb is just a foil for employees to think the site is being invested in.

 

not all of the empty buildings at ATO are for sale. Only the ones outside the perimeter. Buildings like 17 and 24 are impaired which is a dubious tax dodge. We are still paying to heat and cool these buildings but can’t use them. Never seen anything like this.
