I'm bringing a few surgeons to AAOS. Will there be anything new that we didn't see at the NSM in Orlando?
Email from : Ivan Tornos 2019 AAOS is just a couple weeks away. If you are headed to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend this important event, please review these guidelines around interactions with Healthcare Professionals. When providing meals to HCPs in connection with a business meeting: • There must be a legitimate business purpose for the meal; • The daily meal limits are: o $35forbreakfast,$50forlunchand$125fordinner,whichareinclusiveof tax and gratuity; • Spouses or other guests should not be invited; • Venues for meetings must be appropriate for business discussions - no casinos, night clubs, golf resorts, or adult entertainment venues; • Team members or other ZB representatives may not pay for or arrange entertainment for HCPs; (i.e. gaming, golf, show tickets etc.); • Plan ahead, be mindful of multiple events in a single day and around the same meal time. For example, a Zimmer Biomet event offering a reception will count towards an HCP’s dinner meal limit; and • All meals provided to HCPs must be tracked for transparency reporting; Keep in mind, OUS HCPs that participate in your meeting may have strict meal limits that follow the HCP (i.e. Belgium). Appropriate Business Discussions: When collaborating with HCPs, either at the booth or during a Zimmer Biomet event, discussions relating to the following topics must be directed to the appropriate Zimmer Biomet team members (i.e. development, medical education, etc.): • Conversations pertaining to a HCP’s consulting arrangement; • Potential or current development agreements; or • Intellectual Property related topics or ideas Additionally, conversations about the sale of our products must not be combined with discussions about HCP arrangements. There will be thousands of customers and potential customers at every turn. Your Compliance team will be at the Zimmer Biomet booth to assist with any HCP interaction questions you may have. Please contact them if you have any questions. I hope the KY sales teams are reading their emails. Compliance is a big deal at these events and we all know that it isn’t followed within th Zimmer Biomet OrthoSolutions (KY) group.
