Job description:
Job Purpose:
Serves customers by selling pharmaceutical products and meeting customer needs to achieve sales goals and maintain a profitable territory.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential healthcare professionals.
Focuses sales efforts by analyzing reports, DDD data, target list and appropriate territory information.
Keeps Management informed by submitting activity and result reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis.
Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products.
Maintain professional technical knowledge by working with their District Managers regarding additional training and product knowledge.
Maintain up to date pre and post call records on customer sales.
Maintain current, approved protocol and company promotional materials to be used in sales presentations.
Maintain and monitor sample inventory with proper accountability and follow PDMA/FDA guidelines.
Manage territory, develop routing and call cycles.
Achieve expected call activity to target physicians and pharmacies with proper frequency.
Follow AMA guidelines regarding entertainment/gift to physicians.
Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively with the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; display a “can do” approach to work.
Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events.
Works with the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.
Accepts direction and feedback from Managers and follows through appropriately.

Experience and Skills:
BS degree or higher preferred
One or more years of sales experience preferred
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and pharmaceutical products a plus
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Presentation skills
Customer service
Motivation for sales
Prospecting skills
Closing skills
Valid Driver’s License
