I personally have never had this problem. I've had two ports, and have one still in now, in my upper right chest. But I've heard people who have had considerable problems with them. Do you have very thin and tender skin?

No I am just really thin and losing more weight. The surgeon says its fine. It hurts pressing on the skin. You can even see the sides of the port under the skin. They are taping the skin to give it some relief. I guess that is all I can do. Thanks for ...

I would definetly keep an eye on it. I can press on mine and see the edges on it. I have heard of things going wrong. I had one time when I had it flushed, that the nurse who did it, poked it and I immediately knew she didn't hit it, and ever since then, ...

I see the surgeon again today. Thanks. How long have you had your port. I have had it a year and hate it. It was okay at first. In the last six weeks it hurts all the time. I sometimes fantasize tearing it out with a knife. I know I can't. Alex

They are taking the port out and putting a thinner in on the other side deeper in the tissue. Yeah! Alex

Thanks Jane for the support. I have lots of friends with breast cancer but none with Ovarian. so this forum is great. Most of my friends only had ports in for chemo then they were removed. No one I know has a port that sticks out as much as this one does. ...
