How much longer until we get a FDA warning letter about the high incidence of CoCr tibial plates loosening? They will probably wait til it turns out to be a recall and we owe patients millions of dollars.

Why would they loosen more than the old mbt tray?

What is the issue with tibia. We have done a lot of Attunes in our area and haven't seen one

    Any truth to this?

I have to assume this is a competitor since they put CoCr tibial plate. Any DePuy rep would know sigma trays were CoCr also, so this isn't something new they were using. Do you have anything to back up this claim? Keep telling yourself that Titanium trays are the only way to go.

High-volume cutters in Charlotte switched back to Sigma over this issue....

Again, can only believe half of what you read on the site, but there is a doc in my territory(I'm a Zimmer rep) who has revised 4 or 5 loose Attune tibias. I can honestly say I don't remember him revising one Sigma tibia for loosening. The Attune tibias are coming out with little effort and look like they just came out of the package. They are coming out almost as easy as the couple of Persona TM tibias that he put in. Haha

There is an issue but won't be addressed until more are reported. We always wait until 100's of patients are effected then we will respond.

Let's say for a minute that this is true...what cement is he using?

I agree, and the proof is in this post

    Maybe, I doubt it

    Highly doubtful

    Likely true

    Total BS

We switched all our surgeons back to sigma also. People who say there isn't an issue don't do quantity. FACT

    This ^^^
If people were reporting the revisions the numbers would be way higher.

Surgeon in Denver switched to Zimmer because of it

The tray is almost identical to the sigma mbt tray. We had no issues with that. I have a hard time seeing how we would have issues with this. I heard Charlotte surgeons are using Attune again. I would really have to question the cement technique if there were truly any loose trays

The tray is thicker and has a different manufacturing process so the back side has a different roughness and is not as rough as the sigma. Thick tray is stiffer and CoCr.. we will have a recall just watch.

Bingo, marketing is putting a cement failure spin on things to try and save some business but other then that word is spreading surgeon to surgeon.

What happens when a tibia fails with Attune and you need to replace in with augment able tibia. Doesn't a well fixed femur have to be removed as well at this point
