we also have a generous company match plus the annual deposit into your retirement...if you are younger, you have the gift of time to let it grow...you can still live a nice life with travel etc and our away 10-15% into a ROTH 401K.

Agreed. The company is nice enough to provide a generous company match. I’ll never leave. I’ll die for them.

better match than most companies or industries...which is related to the original post. If you want to belittle the company or match, leave or post somewhere else troll.

Times have changed. If you are relatively new to Novartis ( or this industry ), your chances of staying here for more than a few years is exceptionally low. With any Pharma company for that matter. There are probably less than 15% of current field reps that have been here for twenty plus years. A Pharma rep is completely dispensable and will likely bounce around every few years if they plan to stay in...this causes all kinds of retirement plan hicups...Live your life and save as much as you can but enjoy it!!! There is almost no chance you will be in this industry in ten years...

Not trolling. I’m thankful they give me health insurance, 401k match, and a car. I’ll never leave them and they’ll never leave me.

Anyone who has real money doesn't have to brag about how rich they are with a few notable crass exceptions

It's not about money it's about the freedom, security, happiness and many more things money can give you. If you earned the money from hard/smart work and sacrifice, you earn the right to brag about it. People that have similar ideas about money and have millions should feel comfortable talking about it.

But more recently, a 2018 study from Purdue University used much wider data from the Gallup World Poll and found that the ideal income point for individuals is $95,000 for life satisfaction and $60,000 to $75,000 for emotional well-being. When people earned more than $105,000, their happiness levels decreased.

3 million should generate 100k for awhile. Who actually enjoys this job anymore? Right now companies hiring virtual reps to replace you at half salary. What a miserable job! For the virtual rep and for you now. Leave and enjoy your life doing something else!
