After lengthy discussion with Legal and HR, Pfizer has made the decision every rep who calls on physicians, in waiting with patients have to be documented vaccinated to go back LIVE.
If they choose not to get vaccinated, they will stay as a Virtual Rep.
End of Q4 the Virtual Reps will be offered a new PT 20hr wk Virtual Rep role for half pay and if turn down then they will be given severance of 2 wks per year of service.
Severance pay will be paid out in monthly installments until 100% paid.

Makes sense to me. But I just don’t see this passing the smell test in any court. With Hippa and all the privacy BS we force on everyone, I just don’t see this happening. It’s prob a good idea, but more of a pipe dream.

The court will pass it because the rep is not willing to perform the job to the expected activity.

Sorry. Pfizer has more to worry about than vaccinations. No product line is the most pressing issue. The scenario that you present may be for the reps who are selected to stay.

    Not true

So you are proposing that the reps will determine the number of reps in each field force? That is a fantasy.

    Very True
This is ONLY way Pfizer can legally downsize &/or push reps to PT half pay transition.
Very legally shady and hate it but it is legal & avoids any layoff lawsuits.

Lets face it, IM basically has 1 drug left & 60% goes to BMS who has option to cut the to co-promote 2022.
Oncology has lot products but 1 division that is not a lead on anything that can be cut.
Derm has new launch but about 100 too many reps.
Vaccine is right size & not selling covid vaccine which is selling itself
WH can be dissolved as really not any impact with late stage products
Xeljanz is about on total collapse basically only Rhuem are using in 3rd line now and loosing payers in 2022 will be final nail. Plus LOE 36months. No need for maybe just 70 reps that was launched with-- not 300 .

Finally Pfizer grew revenue & sales in many divisions with reps on lockdown so why have reps in the field as can make more net profit w less reps

They have to be willing to eliminate many unnecessary layers of management.

They need to but won’t. Still a lot of nepotism in the halls of Pfizer. Big picture...we will prob exit out of Internal Medicine. We will keep the focus and R&D dollars on Onclogy, I&I, Vaccines, and Rare Disease. These are where the 25 in 5 are coming from anyway.
The other side of this is that Pfizer is living in an alternate reality. Every major biopharma company is back to business as usual. Yet, we think the there is some boogy man out there whether we are vaccinated or not. The irony of it. We developed the vaccine to get people back to work and live a normal life, yet we are the last to do both.

So if everyone who isn’t vaccinated goes out and gets one, then what is the plan?

Listen up. We developed the vaccine and distribute it. Have faith in it and set an example or go somewhere else NOW!

I got the J and J one. Because it doesn't jerk around with mRNA and cause virus shedding. If they fire me for that, then this really is a cult

If I have learned one thing the past 14 months, it's that we don't need managers to oversee teams of 7 or 8 reps. You could cut out so many layers of management it's scary.

I have a suggestion on what you can do with your peer pressure...I am my own person, capable of making my own informed decisions...If you choose to let Pfizer mold your thinking and run your life, that's your call...I think I will, however, stay at PFE and continue to think for myself.

What a moron! “I will have my lawyer ready!” You think Pfizer gives 2 shits about your little nobody lawyer?? How many times have I heard that bullshit!
