From my understanding “Value Options” is now in the midst of performing a major audit with Alere/Avee. The audit goes back to 2009 or 2010. Value Options handles a very large portion of behavioral health / psychological medicine claims for all kinds of BCBS members/policies. Sounds to me like Value Options is following in Horizon BCBS’s footsteps.
This doesn't surprise me. Avee / Alere bought the old company and took over right on time. I can't remember the name of the company that they bought but one of the owners Brian Slattery was non-existent. Escorts will do that to you if you're not focused and your head isn't in the game.
