I've been prescribed Provigil this week and it's the absolute bomb (Now I can go to med school, law school and business school at the same time). It works as advertised, but the nausea is a bit unnerving. I have a follow up with my doc next week. I will let him know I have a little queasiness. Can any of you reps offer real advice? This is strictly for entertainment purposes only.

(I'd beat up a grizzly bear to keep this script)

    Thanks for your help.

shame on your doc for giving it to you if you need it for school.

Ask your doc for Zofran too. This way while you are at school studing like a maniac, you can go binging on weekends at the frat house and never puke a drop! Good luck with your finals!

OP here... He didn't, but thanks. I have apnea. What a jagoff to think that someone would go to b-School, l-school and m-school. It was a joke.

I guess that's why most reps are tools. You have to give a honorarium for a little advice on how to handle nausea associated with your product?

Thank God Cephalon's scientists are brighter than its smartly dressed coupon pushers. Enjoy your bonus!

Your product rocks... No thanks to you.

you also have to be a tool to come on here and ask questions about the product. You should know better.
About Nausea: Can happen as stated on PI but does not happen that often.
    Small %.
Best solution is to eat when you take it and that can reduce nausea.
More than likely it should go away.

OP here... Thanks, I will try it. All I wanted was a little advice. Contrary to most, I believe reps do have insight into their products and add some value in the medical workplace (naive, I know). It was a simple question that is surely addressed at some point with most reps. As far as being a tool, you are right on the mark.

Maybe this forum could be something more than a bunch of whining divas. All it takes a little more effort and a little less ego.

...And if this was anything more than a slight annoyance, I would never ask for advice from this or any forum. UPTIGHT, UPTIGHT!

I am a rep for another company and was prescribed Provigil for Sleep Apnea. My physician indicated that I use an additional method of birth control with the pill since it can be affected. I read the PI and it does say this. Can someone explain to me why? Should I really be concerned? Also, I want to say that this medication is great. I have been suffering from Sleep Apnea for years unknown. Went to a university hospital to get tested in a sleep clinic & my life has changed. Thank you to your company for changing my life.

they get broken down in same pathway and what happens is that the birthcontrol can leave the system quicker therefore making it possibly less effective.
Have not seen anybody get pregnant but it is always worth noting that it can happen.

Another rep here with another company. I am going on a road trip Friday (11hr drive) and I was thinking about trying the Provigil to help me stay awake for the driving. Has anyone tried this? When should I take it? Will I really be able to sleep when I get there?

I took one back in 2005 and I have not slept a day since. But, you should see the babe I met and you would not sleep either!

    Viva Provigil!

to the 11 hr driver...I do this all the time. I take one at 8:00 AM to get me rolling, and then another at noon or 1:00. I sleep like a baby when i get to where ever i am going.

Oh man! I had a good laugh. And, thanks to the judgmental righteous dudes, made this s post even more entertaining. Thanks for your excellent attitude, “Anonymous.”
Any luck with the nausea since? I got it big time with little w dose and eating a meal before taking it. Going to try to cut out the tea.
