This company is crumbling around us and we continue to dividend to artificially prop up the stock and Make a handful of people wealthier.

Why not invest in the people for a change?

Your serious? Oh sorry I thought this was a rhetorical question but as I re-read it I can see you are. We're a public company, so the leadership/boards job is to make shareholders money i.e. dividends. I'm sure your retort is I know that but then why ask. You and I are cogs, pawns use your own metaphor but we're barely window dressing. I'd say quit yet bitching or just leave already but it's more fun to see you and others complain on here

I’d say you’re both a little clueless. Yes dividends are one way of creating shareholder value, the other and better way when you look at Schein is to reinvest in the company and drive up stock price.

Look at the historic differences between the two - which would you rather own or be apart of today?

How much investment do you want? Between SAP and Fuse, this company has done major investment (right or wrong is up for debate). I'd rather my stock at least make me dividends than investing into more stupid initiatives and executive pay.

Why is the stock in free fall and now below $20? What's changed since the last earnings report?

For target price of $20 + dividend it makes sense to buy, if company changes hands or whatever you'll get nice return.
Everybody who bought stock at $35-45 will never get their money back.
