Which company would be good to get on board with that has treatments for patients with kidney disease?

If you're a patient it depends on where you live. The first choice in any event is a non-profit. In the Northwest it would be Northwest Kidney, in Northern California or a few arounf the country it would be Wellbound. In upstate New Yory it would be Rubin. But generally, stay away from the LDO's which are DaVita and Fresenius.

  9. DaVita and Fresenius are profit driven, meaning that they place $ above all else. They’re both continuously tightening staffing hours and have a formula that mandates the technician and RN to patient ratio. DaVita refers to this as “DPC” and Fresenius calls it “Census.” The only thing that can reign this in is state laws. For example, California and New Jersey require a much higher number of staff to patient ratio, which equals more care for the patients. Management is motivated through bonuses, especially upper level management, you know, the people that never step a foot in your clinic but somehow make all of the major changes. If you note any issues of concern in your Hemodialysis clinic, especially those involving your safety, please speak up and advocate for yourself as a patient! And yes, you can call your local State and Medicare Department if your concerns aren’t adequately addressed by management. The clinic is even required to give you those phone numbers if you ask. (Plus they’re in your admission paperwork.)
