This may be the wrong forum for this question but I have a feeling someone on here must know the answer so please bear with me. :)

I'm on a 40mg omeprazole and Dr. wants me off it so I was put on 20mg. I'd like to start weaning off from the 20mg so I popped a pill open and found 128 tiny little bits. Am I right in thinking I can remove, say, 8 bits per day for a few days, 16 bits per day after a few more days, etc. and I will be weaning appropriately? Are all the 'bits' the same pieces of medication?

Sorry if this sounds elementary, just want to make sure I'm doing something that makes sense to me but may possibly be a mistake since I don't know anything about the makeup of pharmaceuticals.

Why? Planning on removing the PPI very gradually over time.

Kind of the whole point of my question,.....
