I agree. It will be difficult to get into these offices without samples to speak to the doctor. I would like to have samples just for these offices.

    Samples don’t sell. Salespeople sell.

Before Nexium went generic the company did the same thing. No samples. At the time Nexium was a fantastic door opener to many offices. It made no sense at the time as Nexium was still in patent. No matter how much the sales force complained the policy remained the same. I guess I just don't have the business skills to understand the reason why the company does this? Anyone else remember those days with Nexium?

Yep! Remember it well! Weren’t we launching Symbicort and mad it would take away our access in our primary care offices? At least we weren’t trying to call on the GI’s with a new drug...we were able to just walk away!

I also remember it. For you new reps. Nexium was a tremendous door opener at least 20 times more than Symbicort. We stop sampling it and our customers were pissed! It didn't make sense the drug was not off patent yet. I'm sure it cost us millions of dollars in Nexium sales and hurt access badly. Well what do I know I'm just a lowly sales rep.
