We spend so much on diversity every hour and have so little to show for it. I'm not really a fan of paying white males any more, but we should allocate $100million ( a fraction of what we spend on diversity and get nothing in return) and buy out with early retirement all white males DMs across all divisions worldwide. Replace every one of them with a diversity candidate. That will run off even more of the rank and file non-diverse and they can be filled in turn with diverse hires.

In a matter of weeks, we can transform the company.

Perhaps you should keep your mouth shut and let the diversity professionals who dedicated their life and education to diversity do their jobs.

There is a series of activities across the organization that isn’t yet public knowledge - what Amgen is doing is commendable. Its a culture shift, advancing black talent already in the organization, and creating pipelines to account for attrition. Its not an overnight fix and any professional will tell you its a multi-year investment will be needed.

There's already a series of behind the scenes initiatives. You will only see black and female promotions from here out starting at the DM level going all the way to the board. This is our company now!

    Wait and see.

Just saw this post. How refreshing to see. I have been here for over 10 years and think it’s about time. I have worked for a lot of DMs and have always felt more productive working for women who understand work life balance. It might be a good ide to start a task force to make sure this continues to move in the right direction. Could we consider starting a union to drive home our ideas? Any thoughts?

I don't think the work/life balance has anything to do with being a man vs woman. I have a female dm and our team suffers from constant early morning and late night texts, emails, etc. Normal to have emails rolling in at 10pm and then start back at 6:30am. Texts start around 7am, often up to 8pm. Learned to deal with it by forcing myself to put the work phone away after a certain hour.

Take that to HR- seriously. Unacceptable.
