It took awhile but it’s official - the company once known as MWI Veterinary Supply is now called AmerisourceBergen Animal Health (with MWI Animal Health in very small letters when the logo is used). Everything internally has already been converted for some time now, and the dumpster fire just keeps getting bigger. Thanks ABC for bringing in Zoetis reject SS to lead the companion animal division, and totally destroy it in the process.

Count me in. If I could find a vendor rep job in my area I would take it in a heartbeat. Only at MWI could you make double digit sales growth year after year, and every year your pay goes the opposite direction. Kind of the opposite of what you would learn in a Sales Commission 101 class.

But wait, if you get all your clinics using our new app, everything will be wonderful. I mean they all do have an iPhone right ??

Yes, the app will save our company! I need to do 70 installs to make the Q2-Q4 requirement. Oh wait... I only have 80 clinics and maybe a 1/3 have use an iPhone/iPad, and another 1/3 use VetCove exclusively. Guess I’ll have to sell AllyDVM, Scratchpay, Petriage, and so on...

Yeah. Who the f*** bother making an app WITHOUT an Android version ??? And tries to roll it out as a requirement. Clinic employees definitely want yet another work app on their phone too. Does it really matter how the orders come in ???

just wait for the conf call Wednesday, round table on sales and category management. Round table = We’ll listen to all of your idiotic ideas and do what we want anyway. That’s how we got in the mess we are in now. New idea - having a good, better, best rating for products. That’s exactly what I want to see as a clinic - the product I use now is “good”, so it must be crap. And would you really rate anything (except maybe gloves) good, better, best??? I’m thinking their next move is to force us all to take diversity and inclusion training.

Anyone else think distributor reps will be in serious career trouble in the very near future?

Distributor reps have been in trouble the last several years. The ongoing corporate takeover of veterinary hospitals has continually cut the distributor reps off at the knees.

Well the other shoe finally dropped. Commission cut to the point that for the majority of the reps, it’s more of a salary plus bonus. They raised base salary, so they can say in the noncompete, that also presented at the same time, that they increased your salary, without saying commission was slashed. My projected commission for this coming year is $20k, from $70k last year. Including all the other changes, all I can say is WTF, but everyone should have seen it coming. Get out now if you can, I am.

What do you expect from AmerisourceBergen? Terrible margins don’t allow any space for reps to do well. They might as well be an online ordering only company.

Wait around a year or two, it will come to that. Very reliable insider info points to this, they are just trying to keep the salesforce together until they have everything in place for the actual switch. When one dist. does it, they all will.

I wonder how many reps have left / will “leave” due to the Nov 1 mandatory vaccine… I know of several so far that have preemptively left, more to come on the first.

Wow, out of the blue the president is leaving for a “new journey”. Really, wtf. Two days before the Nov 1 company vaccine mandate. Got the hell out, who’s next…

Just heard the president of another division of MWI resigned, what the hell is going on over there, executives don’t want to take the mandatory shot??? I would suggest a career change, before you are forced to make a change, because somebody seems to know something.

Lots of openings for this company on the job sites. Worth a try for a few years??
