Why are our salaries so low?
Why are we not paying our specialty reps more?
All our competitors have higher base salaries than we do and we have higher standards that we have to meet vs. the others.

All the better reason to go to one. Just copped a base of $183K calling on the same specialty (over 40 grand more) and as a bonus they let you go out and work! You actually feel like you're accomplishing something! None of that political BS either.

give names of companies and salaries. That's tough talk without evidence

Because a larger company provides better stability. Go with a smaller company, and you'll get that higher salary at the cost of higher risk. Pretty simple

Does the company start with an "R"? They are raiding our CV and our Onc people, the numbers sound accurate. Do you start Aug 9th?

Got an offer in this range. I was at a lower pay so the pay raise for me is greater than what was mentioned earlier. But I can second the fact this level of pay does exist.

If you haven’t been around long enough to get a decent package, by all means, you should be looking.

Less risk meaning pfizer isn't going out of business tomorrow and we will be getting paid at the end of the month.

I concur. A tenured specialty rep can get 180 from a biotech, maybe another pharma co at the top range. You'd have to be absolutely lights out/HOF to make that here.

I find it amusing you think you have higher standards than others
Was part of another company that Pfizer bought and did not see higher standards. Saw a bunch of reps focusing on activity and spending money to check off boxes

I also came from an acquisition - Pfizer focuses on activity because the inbred management team doesn't know what else to do.

The day Pfizer bought my old company will go down as the saddest day of my life. They took us to all these meaningless meetings and when I sat and watched 2 people who could barely speak English spend a good hour talking about some marketing piece, I knew we were screwed. My manager schedules a virtual ride along every 3 weeks, from 8 to 5. And if I don't have any calls, they role play with me. My old company trusted me to do my job

Get real! We get what we’re worth. We’re being overpaid for what we actually do.
Our impact on sales is minimal. Our most successful drugs were purchased and already sold by the acquired companies.
We/Pfe just rode the waves, and in some cases screwed up a good thing. Most of Pfizer’s own drugs were failures. Our value to medical community has diminished to the point of being viewed as a nuisance.
Be happy you’re employed, and if you think you’re worth more, get out there and get it.
