Xeris TBM insight

    Is it possible to get honest insight about the current state of this company? I was considering applying to a TBM position and had some questions.

    How many sales reps does this company have nationwide? I ask this because the territory seems rather large, even for a small sales force.

    How is the culture and leadership? I read through the posts here and can sense that it’s a little tense, but I was just wondering what it’s like on the sales side? Of course your manager is going to play a big role, but was wondering what the pressure would be like after I sign on the dotted line. Is there much busy work thrown at reps here?

    Finally, how is it going w G Voke? I’ve looked at the competition and G Voke seems like a fairly easy sell. I know it’s not a market leader in my area, but it seems doable.

    I know that’s a lot of questions. Sincerely appreciate any insight!

    I’ll try and give you an honest synopsis of the current state at Xeris.

    This is not your average small pharmaceutical company, we are a micro pharma startup. Less than 100 reps in the US equates to pretty large territories.

    As far as culture goes, honestly, it’s not the best. Some reps have been able to gain a nice portion of market share, but that is expected to change now that we have a new competitor. Management is freaking out about this and pressuring us to defend our business by any means necessary. It’s really not a great environment at the moment, and will only get worse.

    I have been fortunate to have gained some offices that have really helped me out with GVoke over the last year. But now that competition has entered the marketplace, our numbers will certainly start to slide. I have a couple offices who have written a few scripts for Zegalogue and I’m being pressured to run in there and start bashing that product. Which always looks tacky to prescribers. And this is only going to get worse.

    I’m not trying to discourage you from accepting a position here if you need a job. But I will say that I am personally looking to leverage the success I’ve had w GVoke into finding a better position. I’m not even sure I want to be in the diabetes space anymore. May just go back to a nice cushy gig in big pharma. Not sure if that’s the answer you were looking for, but it’s my honest opinion

    ^ I disagree with your take on competition- Zegalogue/Baqsimi market share is just a distraction from our real competition, patients on insulin with no rescue (75%+). GVOKE in the event of severe hypo is truly the most practical- plain and simple, no need to bash competition if you stand by GVOKE. Most market share is untapped in internal med, family med, GPs that manage diabetes- if you find the right ones that you can access and are willing to partner with you, the job will be much more doable- without all the competition.

    You are right, you belong in cushy Pharma. Make sure in your interview you mention you’re leaving because this is too competitive of a sell for you

    All you have to say is that you were working for Xeris and any company will understand you’re being responsible by looking out for your future.

    I would run from this company...unrealistic goals, huge territories, and awful leadership.

    I agree. Thought it would be a good opportunity but this place went south quickly.

    Agreed. Leadership is TERRIBLE here. Half of management is new and has no idea what they're doing. A lot of snakes in the grass. Plus, product has poor coverage as well.

    Got out . Turnover rate is so high and at any given time there's a million openings on LinkedIn .

    Company is a money pit. They can’t afford to keep paying us these huge salaries with such little revenue

    What base do the Keveyis reps make ?
    Heard there target bonus is 60K

    Quotas are absolutely ridiculous and unattainable now. Hiring cheap reps and putting their money there instead of bonuses and promotions. Took peoples promotions away after earning them by “re-writing” what it means to be a senior rep two weeks prior to promotions. Terrible leadership. Crushing a great sales team and morale is out the window. I would not come here now for sure.
