I interviewed for a rep spot a cpl wks ago for the ADC expansion but haven’t heard anything yet- is anyone in the same boat or have offers gone out?
Toxic place. You do good and management takes the credit. They screw the good creative workers for their political ends. Libre was an accident of technology which came about due to the work of the Therasense workers who all had a vision....the ADC management jumped on the band wagon and pushed off all the employees who did the original work and took credit for it. Be very carful if you take a job at ADC.
I just received an email saying that Abbott will not be filling those positions. Thanks so much for wasting my time along with 2 days of vacation. Furthermore, Abbott has not reimbursed me for my travel expenses. Anyone know anything about this decision?
I got the same email... I wonder what they will be doing about any new hires making that large base salary but unable to work due to Covid-19.
Sorry to hear of yoru ordeal; as far back as October 2019, ADC finnace projected a terrible 2002 financial picture - those positions were never fully approved - just HR & TA trying save their jobs by appearing busy. Abbott 2002 layoffs are already in the pipleine, as soon as COVID19 restrictions are eased.
Applying for Diabetes Sales Specialist position via the Abbott site. The posted job isn't specific on product. Should I assume this position carries Libre? How many people already carry Libre? My concern should I get the job I'd be first to go in any potential lay-offs. My current company has 1-4 reps per territory and rumor is downsizing will take most territories to 1-2. Roughly a cut from 500 people to 200. Thanks in advance for any insight.
Libre is growing leaps and bounds. And a newer system will show up some time next year. Obesity rates in the US are about 41% so the need for this product is growing (lots of T2 diabetics). Revenue for ADC pre Libre was about $1B. Now about $3B...so no layoffs due to revenues issues. So ADC is pretty much a one product company given that 70% of its money comes from Libre. If you can tolerate selling Libre and a handful of meters/strips and the toxic ADC management (ask about Duncan) go for it. Abbott overall is a very good company. Outstanding benefits, good pay, and an OK culture. If you can stomach ADC for a few years there are many other divisions available for a job transfer. And if you like San Diego you can always jump ship and go to DexCom...many good beaches down south.
