How will they choose who stays, and who goes?

I am not "in the know" but I will share of a situation I am aware of that when Pfizer did their big layoff 12 years ago there was a TM who was very surprised to learn that they were placed in an STM role at that time and could only surmise that a manager force-ranked the team, with the rep being placed in a first position and hence receiving an unapplied for promotion.

    I remember that as well

It’s always a good idea to get along with the manager. I was a manager for awhile, and we did annual calibration of reps. It was a pretty fair and comprehensive process that incorporated many metrics. In my region I thought it was a good and competitive process that did help neutralize the “favorites” bias.

That happened in my district - the rep who was promoted was hoping to be laid off so that she could spend more time with her kids. She resigned about 2 years later.

It has happened like this in the past. Unfortunately. Geography always plays a role as well.

It did happen in the past. And the DMs were also ranked. But, this seems different. There are so many new variables now that will influence the number of field reps and who is selected to stay.
And this is not a racist comment, it is reality: Pfizer wants a higher black headcount.

They always throw a few "what the's" in there as well. Really good people get let go, and a few idiots who have been investigated by HR, drink at meetings ect always make the cut. So there is no pattern to it.

Pssst...If you've got to say it's not racist, it's probably racist.

I had thought we might hear something in July for Team 1 but it looks like it will be later.
I am betting they cut based on IDN’s and geography. If you live in a rural area, you are probably gone.

Not meaning to be harsh, but all of Team 1 will be gone.

Got a notice in mail about PRAP and what payouts will be going away in 2022. At the bottom it mentioned if let go to make a decision by October. So I’m guessing that time as it will coincide with the 12 weeks WARN period.

IM sales reps in general will be gone. Team 1 and team 2 TM’s and STM’s. Mostly telemarketing for reps and almost no F2F. F2F will be for the so called medical specialists with the “increased scope”, so both teams will be eliminated and a new phone sales force will be created.

I heard this is not the case, and it will be a combination of teams 1 and 2

    Pfizer Retirement Annuity Plan
It’s the pension you received being vested after 6 years w the company.

I have heard this too but would think they would keep Team 2 mostly in place because of BM contract. Cardio relationships are important.

That’s what we usually do. Been through enough of these to know what happens.
1st do you live in the geography
2nd are you already calling on these customers.
3rd whatever the flavor of the month might be.

one thing we learned early on was to make sure it looks like it’s not the shit show it really is behind the curtain.
