    A discussion of Paula Dean and the derivation of slang terms for ethnic/cultural groups that is all over the media cannot be discussed here? Really???

    What happened, did I miss something? Hell, even people perceived as liberals (like Bill Maher) are defending Paula Deen. I don't see it as political, rather a shift in what's acceptable or not in our current society that's not being applied equally among all of us.

    Even Martha Stewart (who likes her threesomes) is defending her. If I was her, I'd give everyone the finger, take my money and enjoy my life.

    With that said, I'd sure hate to see her naked!

    Oh, I'm sure somebody has archived the thread.

    It does seem somewhat silly though. Maybe someone in the eye's circle is a friend of Paula......

    I don't get it, seems like EVERYONE has said enough! Even Bill Maher thinks it's ridiculous. It's only the stores carrying her brand that are deciding against carrying it.

    I think it was pulled more for the discussion of the various epithets created and their derivations....or maybe the new cookie from Nabisco...

    Just re-read the Admin post on reasons why they do not post reasons for deleting threads, etc. If no reason is given, how do we know what to NOT do again and get suspended or banned for our transgressions...???

    Good point, but I was the guy who would still ask why and give my opinion--good or bad. SOMEBODY had to be honest...

    I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. I figured the mods were at a meeting or something.
    It's mentality like this that helps keep racism alive-you can't even have a rational discussion about the topic-same goes for that other religion that must not be named.

    I was there too, did the same thing and laughed along with all the black people who bought Richard Pryor's album that used the N word on the cover. I think it's much ado about nothing but on the other hand, her manager took a woman who really didn't have much, made her a rich and famous celebrity so if I were her, I'd just take the money, retire and enjoy my life at this point.
