And those patient starter kits. Don’t forget. Adjust the call panels while you’re at it too. For the love of...

Ok so the kits are a bit cumbersome. I understand that. But what other reason do you have to cry about them so much? It’s just something different.

Awe you’re cute. You obviously haven’t walked into a clinic and been laughed at upon entry while bringing in a starter kit.

We appreciate the effort to give us something different but the bottom line is that there is nothing very useful in that kit. They are way too big and offices do not want something taking up that much space (they barley let us leave marketing materials these days). Stickers? Who is really going to use stickers every time they put in a drop. The booklet doesn't even contain information on dry eye and things to do to help it. The tissues are probably the most useful thing and that's not even that great.

Then to send us 150- and to our houses?? We literally can't give these away. It's not just us that doesn't think these are that great. The managers have also seen the reactions first hand. We really aren't trying to be negative jerks but give honest feedback.

Thanks for your candid input. We do value your opinion and can’t do better if we don’t get specific examples. Too often it is just broad complaints. While I don’t agree with everything I appreciate the details. Also thanks for not attacking the Green team like prior posters. They are a talented team serving a purpose were we had a void.

monsoon. There’s no “void” being taken care of here. If it was truly filling a void, they’d be calling on the intended targets of 0-9 and growing that business.

Ok. You might need to brush up on analytics. Maybe you don’t know where the business is.

you’re right. Been successful YOY with Restasis for eternity and I have no idea where the business.

but still the push for 0-9. Pitiful.

yep! Because there’s the void, not with our current high volume customers. The point that you’re missing entirely.

So with the interference from the “greenies” as you call them with your high volume customers we will see no movement in share? The jury is out. Seems like you fear being exposed.

You have got got to be in management. Or on the Green team. Not a legacy rep.

The investment in additional human capital is not taken lightly. This was the correct decision and the addition of our new team will pay dividends. When that happens they will be seen as the force that exposed you much like you were exposed 4 years ago. Good selling.

What is this “exposure” you speak of? Happen to be unfamiliar because I don’t drop in the tanks and have continued success, so it’s just empty words.

We had the entry of a new product to the market. You would have had us believe that the market was mature. It was anything but and it showed on you.

Honestly my Green team rep supposedly has a lot of experience but is running around like a lost puppy CONSTANTLY asking for help on things that they could figure out on their own by actually doing work and talking to clinics or even googling.

The smart thing to do would be to have them calling on people that aren't Red/Blue targets and aren't in multi-provider groups... we don't need more share of voice in most of our target offices. And we certainly don't need them going into large 10-15 provider clinics talking about samples and then saying "Oh the providers I have aren't in or can't sign? Sorry, no samples for you."

You say you don’t need help in Most of your target clinics. Make up your mind. Also, they are definitely more professional and tactful than you project them to be.

Ok, I'll rephrase... in 99 offices out of 100 they're not needed. They've been in the field a few weeks now and offices are already calling and asking why they've got a new Restasis rep (if we're lucky that's what they ask, most of the time they just tell the offices they're "the new Allergan Rep"). It's confusing the offices and they're starting to get pissed at the company because they're going in talking about samples then not being able to leave any. The vast majority of offices aren't going to bend over and search for a specific doc in the practice to sign for Restasis; they're going to call a Red or Blue rep to bring everything in at once (it's happened a few times to me already).

If the Green team is introducing themselves as the new rep without clarifying that no other reps have left the organization that would be a problem.

The fact of the matter here is that the entry of a new product created noise around the disease state that grew the market roughly 20%. However, that sales force did not capitalize on the growth the way Allergan reps did. If they had, Xiidra would have had a 20% market share within a year or so versus still struggling almost 5 years later to maintain a 20% market share in most areas. We benefitted from much of their work to create excitement in the space, but we also continued to sell and take share.

Very few people in this thread have been insulting or rude about the green/contract reps. Most people do not think these reps are stupid, unnecessary, or a mistake. The main issue is that everyone- including the green reps themselves- were told they would be calling on lower volume doctors who showed potential to grow but not enough current volume to justify high activity for the red and blue reps. THAT IS THE ISSUE.

I believe at one time the entire sales force was told there would not be a situation where there would be 3 reps calling on 1 doctor, it would be overlap with 2 reps maximum. Then the call panels come out and a very high number of doctors are now seeing 3 reps- including glaucoma specialists that were already seeing red and blue- why would these doctors need to get an additional Restasis message when they're writing 100% Restasis? Their dry eye volume doesn't have the same potential to grow, regardless of share of voice. Why wouldn't we put the green reps into more of the OD offices or general MDs? The green reps in my area seem like great reps with plenty of talent, why not let them develop some dabblers and get them excited and motivated to diagnose and treat dry eye rather than send them in as a third rep in an office already receiving a Restasis message every other week minimum from 2 other reps???

I understand you think you are far superior to any lowly rep in the field, but you are still missing the point entirely.
