How much do Territory sales reps make. Base + commission

Not enough to work at this place. They'll give you a handful of accounts that don't like Patterson and badger you to sell overpriced equipment, overpriced sundries where tour competitor is always lower and layout unrealistic expectations on growth until you quit or are fired. You want a short term job, apply. You want a career run away. This place is going down faster then a whore during fleet week.

Between 45k-55k depending where you are and what you negotiate it at. Commissions vary a lot depending on territory and opportunity. For instance, Chicago has more opportunity that Seattle washington.

on average, what are the managers like to work with?

Depends on the manager. Most are ass kissers who have no original thoughts and are clinging to their salaries as long as possible. They know they're on a sinking ship but can't do a damn thing about it. They're micromanaged and are simply shills anymore for the corporate drivel comming out of MN. Most, not all will sell you up river at the first sign of potential career advancement. Trust any of them at your own peril.

If what your saying is true...Do the competitors share the same opinion of themselves? I was looking at a job with Benco and Henry Schein. Is the mailaise industry wide or is Patterson just that messed up? I don’t see as much bad news on the threads about them.

    Sincerely appreciate the honesty.

Patterson is just that screwed up. Benco and Schein are not super awesome fantastic places but they're a far cry better right now.

Correct. The place has been driven and continues to be driven into the ground by a hopeless leadership team and a BOD who’s only interest is to get out while they can. Check any alternatives or smaller dealers than this one before wasting your time.

"For instance, Chicago has more opportunity that Seattle washington."

Why do you think that is ?

Because the majority/all of the Chicago branch quit and went to Midwest. So they're having to rebuild that area. Look when Pumpkin Head convinced Anderson it was a good idea to let a qtr of the salesforce go in one day here in 2016 opportunity abounds regardless of the location. The Chicago branch was just smart enough to leave en masse.

Most managers tout the corporate goals of territory and cerec reps, but they give no logic of how to get to those goals, considering the opportunity, or lack of.

I was a CEREC rep and had a goal of 3 cerec machines per territory rep, but given no explanation of how that goal came about Chicago reps had the same goal with way more opportunity than me. It was unfair and the managers couldn't do anything about it.

Most don't know how to achieve those goals. Most have been licking boots and ass for so long they've forgotten what it takes in the field. Competition is tougher then it's ever been and we're still not competitive, or service and smile can only do so much when we're over priced, and can't adjust margins to match the competition.

PDCO is an excellent company just going through a tough spot with lots of changes and software issues. It gets a little better everyday. If you want to be micromanaged on how to do your job... or how to make your sales goal, this might not be for you. The career is like owning your own small business. It can be very rewarding and it can suck... and sometimes all in the same day. Better times ahead.

Not so many changes other than software, which will cost a lot to support as well.
Add also dividend payouts and you'll get the financial picture.
Margins will go down, the biggest (HS) and nimble, privately owned, low overhead dealers will survive. I don't see Patterson Dental as it is now there.

Good to know MN/management is reading this thread. Look Rogan, your a shitty boss who's bilked this company out of millions of dollars and flushed it down the drain with your buddy Misiak. Please resign so we can get on with rebuilding what was a great company. Asshole.

and take 75% of the branch and regional presidents with you. We’ll provide names when you’re ready. They are a product of your stupid decision making and need to go along with you.
