Worst managed company I have ever worked for...managers (TOP) change every 9-12 months before they know their jobs...they call it a clusterF--K. Turn-over numbers should be looked at as well as training costs! They, like the others, believe in having more than one rep calling on a single doctor (share of voice)...Hey..Hire good reps, pay them for results and fire the rest...that's what will happen in the long run...run a business for god sake

Hand on heart, NoFARTus is the worst company I have ever worked for and I have worked for a number of companies both large and small over 20 years in the industry. In the UK the HR Dept is really appalling ..i think they are all 21!! Relationships between RBD and RBM are ignored and reps can ask their GP "fboyfriends" to obstruct disciplinary investigations. If only there was a way of letting the truth out...........perhaps the ABPI should operate a pharma "crimestoppers"!!!

NoFARTus (should be YesFartus) as a member of bigpharmafia, feels and is (for now) untouchable. They have the money in all currencies, connections, experience and huge stables of highly paid top-on-the-crooks-side lawyers. This is everywhere in the world. On the other hand, there are us small fry that work for them and depend on their handouts. What can we do? We can do a lot if we stop looking the other way. Instead we must collect the evidence, file it and when we have the type that can take them down, at least in USA we must take them down. Yes in USA because of few good laws FCA one of the best, this Co just as others have been, can be taken down. For that you need 3 things; evidence, evidence and evidence. Once you have this you only need another thing, do it right with the help of those who know how it is done.
So, decide to become a whistleblower and dedicate your time and effort for this. Even if it takes years, it will pay off for future generations and people.
Someone must stop them and bring them to justice. They have become worse than real mafia and have protection of the law till they are brought before the law. By the way THE LAW is the only thing they are afraid of and this is why they are so super careful not to peoduce the evidence that can take them dow.
How do they do this? They take legal business practices turn them into illegal and more effective and you think they are doing things legally. For instance; their off label promo is often burried in their regular promo material.
I am working on this. How about you.

This is the rumor at Novartis. Basically if anyone fails the same test twice they need fired because they give you the EXACT same test over again. I've heard of people being put on a plane and I've also heard of people getting a tongue lashing from their managers?

    Lotus Notes On- Line Survey

Has anyone took the recent on line survey from Novartis? Looks like they are looking into cutting benefits (ie.401K match from 6% to 4%, Pension, stock options etc) Doesn't look very promising. What do you think?

I completely agree about the whole unethical and immoral company part, but we all know that whoring is the oldest profession... and it seems that this company is running a high priced escort service in the Western burbs of Chi. I know of a rep. in the far western burbs that was not only banging the manager for favorable reviews and bonuses ($ & trips to the Bahamas) but also had an affair with married Doctor - oh and that rep was married as well. But hey its gotta be nice to spend the company's money on expensive dinners and all the alcohol, while paying a doctor to hang out with his friends and maybe give a 5 minute pitch then it's on to the hotel for the gang bang. I swear I'm going back to Med. School, who cares about the student loans when you can score free meals, drinks and hot young sluts if you promise to bump up the number of scripts for Exforge, Tekturna or whatever the flavor of the month is. Lesson to be learned... all you have to do is put out to get ahead at this high priced escort company.

Novartis hires the worst managers! They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground! They (the managers) are the idiots who get rid of the higher paid employees (the ones doing the selling) and replace them with reps at half the salary, thus increasing their share of voice. They get two for the price of one!

Don't worry, NoFartus will get theirs once Coz goes generic. Someone like Teva will start producing coz and coz/amlodipine. Then Nofartus will not only be out of the ARB market, but the combo market as well. Just like Lotrel, they will no longer have anything to promote.

You create reality with your thoughts. If all you are looking for in life is the bad or undesirable that is what you will always receive. Aspire to control your self, for that is all that you can hope to do. This company is so large that it is hard to manage all aspects (mismanagement). Focus on the good the company does and be happy to have a well paying job.

"A noble man compares and estimates himself by an idea which is higher than himself; and a mean man, by one lower than himself. The one produces aspiration; the other ambition, which is the way in which a vulgar man aspires."

Get off your high horse and stop bragging! Have some compassion for all the individuals that lost their jobs during this holiday season! No one wants to here this crap from you!

  20. EVERYONE IS GETTING FIRED. NO ONE NEEDS OR LIKES REPS. This guy said it best, "Obviously you are scared, so much so that you act ignorant to the fact that we are all dispensible, no one is "invaluable," and reps today are all mediocre. If this wasn't true then why, "At it's peak in 2007, he American pharmaceutical industry fielded 102,000 sales res, said Chris Wright, managing principal for the consulting firm ZS Associates' U.S. pharmaceuticals Practice. Drugmakers have slashed the number to 92,000 since then, and ZS projects the number will fall to 75,000 by 2012 at the latest, saving the industry $3.6 billion." (O'Rielly, K., AMNews staff, Doctors increasingly close doors to drug reps, while pharma cuts ranks, March 23, 2009). I don' want to see my friends lose their jobs. I feel a sadness that in just the last few years I experienced the decline of the respect for reps and for the industry, especially from the older doctors who recalled the pre ‘me-too” drug era, the pre Capitalist greed propagated by the Reagan Regime, the days when reps would be welcomed into offices and given ample time to discuss a new drug, indication or study clearly designed to help patients not the pocket books of the top-dogs, and who remembered when researchers sought to improve the lives of patients, not make themselves rich with the next blockbuster. When I, just like you, were able to share with doctors what we knew, rather than just drop off samples, none of us were mediocre. But the fact that Doctors don't want to see or hear YOU and 27,000 reps and counting will be axed, so the industry, i.e., the CEO's and investors, can make more billions, it's beyond ignorance, it's denial, to assume that we'll be nothing more than the stuff of pharma top-dog cocktail party jokes. WAKE UP! Pharma is NOT about customer focus and idealism to better an ailing world, it's about the deceit and greed of the pharmaceutical industry, which has led to it being the number one Fortune 500 industry--consistenntly for the last twenty years--with $200 billion of revenue per year in the U.S. ($400 billion worldwide) and that confounding profit margin of over 18%. No other industry has close to an 18% profit margin! Why do you think a full treatment of generic terbinafine sells at Costco for $27, while Lamisil sold for $900! Why does this industry have to have such an obnoxiously huge profit margin? Not to keep you or the thousands of other experienced and hard-working reps, like me and possibly even you, employed! No, it's to keep it powerful enough to influence government and fill the pockets of the guys at the top. Don't you be mediocre. Do your homework and find out what really happened to Gleevec and how many lives it could have saved. Ask yourself why new diseases like "shyness" are being created (yes, with the mighty clout of pharma) just so a new drug, a real money maker, can be thrust upon the masses with catchy DTCA. Before you get weeded out, ask yourself why there are thirteen different cholestrol drugs, which are almost moleculary identical. I send my earnest message with hope that you can prepare for the future. Be the "artist of your own creation," and weed out the liars who keep you on puppet strings and pump you up with platitudes and phony accolades until they are done with you and mercilessly cut the strings, smiling their sinister smiles as they watch you crash and shatter, unaware that their tragic fall from hollow hubris to humility is around their own next turn. Wake up and get yourself ready. I want you to survive and succeed, I really do, but you need to start by knowing where to point your arrows and open your eyes and see the ones pointed at you."
