Xeljanz going back orginal 76 rep headcount

Jan 2022 Xeljanz will be going back to orginal 76 reps that launched the drug only calling on Rhuems.
50% solo terr, 50% 2rep.
FDA will all but prevent GI use with new label restrictions (no need for GI calls now anyway) and all payer plans removing Xeljanz from formulary to only be used after the 3 on formulary failures--- basically last line.

Per tried & proven strategies with Lipiror/Celebrex/Lyrica/Viagra/Chantix,
36 months pre LOE downsizing of overhead while loosing mkt share in order to squeeze out most profit.

Same pattern like 6th time just different product.

 

We dont even need 76 reps to call on Rhuems! We only need 1 rep per territory-- not 2 let alone 3 plus a GI rep-- STUPID VP & PRES decision (but par for the coarse w their decisions)

Yes first 2yrs we launched 76 reps but that was a clean label, 1st line use, & 1st JAK --- we dont even need 76 now that we have restricted CV label, & most using after 3 TNF failures or last line. I say 50-60 reps would be adequate now in the last 2 yrs of LOE.
(We have almost 300 now which is beyond comical--- all reps across country w counterparts go on joint calls together just to CHECK LOTZ BOX of 5 calls per day. If we didnt, then we will have 2 calls day avg.
But not bad gig for 150k salary Lotz bumped most of us up to this year!)

Will be extremely fortunate to have 76 reps that launched with clean PI.

More likely with new label and no more GI, be 50-60 reps and close out last 2 yrs LOE with contact reps to make up any SOV

 

76 live reps will be top end. And we can only hope we dont end up like Cluster 3-- kaboom

I just hope its 76 reps!
First couple yrs we had basically 1 rep per terr and did great with that headcount. Then we added the CSO reps then 3 years ago doubled that for useless GI to go to 300 reps
Its been a joke last few years & I understand where tens of millions in costs can be saved without loosing sales rev as we did it in the early years with a CLEAN PI!
Now our Pres & VP the last couple of yrs w GI expansion and backfilling positions and giving 10-20-30k pay raises the past 12 months to keep reps have created this entire mess we are in now.
Both of those non strategic clueless bozos need to be 1st ones canned
(They will be named in Xeljanz CV deaths coverup lawsuits anyway)

 

In I&I , this 1st go around will not be 76 reps, should be but wont. Likely go down to 150 then a year after go to 76 before Xeljanz LOE with no product in pipeline to replace--- there is a 3-4yr gap in pipeline.

However, a growing option discussed is a complete Collapse 100% and give BioSimilar reps & FMD & KAM the top 20 acts that drive 80% of the sales.
Ala Cluster 3, Neuro, Psych, AI, Ophthalmology--- complete whack job 100%% bye bye

 

All we know is it's going to be a downsizing to have 1 rep territories, so could be 76 reps, 100 reps 150reps--- we will know in 120 days.
I am glad I went to Rare Disease & got out of that TOXIC Non Leadership Culture that was totally dysfunction from President down!
It was the corporate version of Dumb & Dumber. Never in my career have I experienced such a colossal moron f up leadership as I experienced the last couple of years with Xel....
The culture in other divisions is so much better and there is true Leadership! Not people who should be in a cubical with no direct oversight of others trying to have an ego leading a division.
(Never seen so many bonehead f ups and poor decisions as I seen w Xel the last couple yrs)
The grass is greener in other Pfizer divisions!

I am going to LMAO if during the reorganization they let equal amounts of reps go from all teams ( which is what usually happens to avoid lawsuits). This cluster 1 or 2 layoffs isn’t the question, it’s how many from each team and division will be let go. I am sure many will be shocked when the time comes.
