Investor concerns about weaker order growth in China as the country’s economy slows and the impact of popular weight-loss drugs on medical devices and procedures have dragged on stock prices across the sector in recent weeks.

Here are four companies to watch as they report third-quarter earnings in the week ahead.

In February of 2021, Zimmer Biomet revealed the next stage of its evolution – by announcing it would spin off its spine and dental businesses. That newly-created company would go on to be named ZimVie – Zim taken from Zimmer Biomet and Vie coming from the French word for Life. It would launch in March of 2022.

A few days after the spinoff was announced Vafa Jamali was tapped to be the CEO of the company, which would compete in the growing $20 billion global dental and spine markets.

Zimmer Biomet has named its planned dental and spines spinout, ZimVie. The company also named the leadership team for the new company, which will officially be spun out by mid-2022.
