Women's Health and Urology

I am on lunch break and wanted to post real quick about a position with the Women's Health and Urology division. I have looked at the Ethicon website and saw the products listed there:

GYNECARE INTERCEED* (TC7) Absorbable Adhesion Barrier
GYNECARE MONITORR* Urodynamic Measurement System
GYNECARE PROLIFT* Pelvic Floor Repair Systems
GYNECARE THERMACHOICE* III Uterine Balloon Therapy System
GYNECARE TVT* Tension-free Support for Incontinence
GYNECARE VERISTAT* Fluid Management System
GYNECARE VERSAPOINT* Bipolar Electrosurgery System
GYNECARE VERSASCOPE* Hysteroscopy System
GYNECARE X-TRACT* Tissue Morcellator

Are you responsible for all of these products? Are the products mostly device rather than pills? Where do most of the calls take place (ie. office or hospital)?

What would a ballpark salary/comm be for a position like this in the south? What is your general day like (ie. work off a pager, on call)? What is the manager like?

I appreciate the information. I have heard from a couple of recruiters that J&J companies are great to work for, although base is slightly lower. I have 8 years in pharma and quite frankly I am burned out and want to actually feel like I make a difference throughout the day. I am not afraid of hard work, early or late days.

You are responsible for all those products you mentioned. They are all surgical devices used in mainly GYN and UROLOGY surgery. YOu will be in the OR about 80% of the time with the rest in the office. Decent gig but you will be in surgery by 7:30 every day and spend some long nights as well. Will be about a 60/hr week every week. Pay is okay but it is a good way to get in with a decent company and if you do well for a couple years you can jump on to really good gigs. Expect to make between 80-120 top reps do 150-220.

8 yrs pharma. no med device. not happening. you are considered tainted. only closers in med device. no coffee for you. sit the f... down.

IS Ty Jones still with Ethicon in the Akron, Ohio area. I am not sure which Ethicon company though.

What are you smoking? At plan is 145k top reps make well into the 200k's and rep of the year will be 400k plus. Take my advice, put down the joint, and resign. Viva Cheech!

Are you crazy? Don't sell that crap. Look on the Hystersisters site and you'll see quickly how it's RUINED womens lives. You want that to help you sleep at night????????

This is an accurate post. Check this site out. These are old products with a mixed record, your only saving grace is that you dont have products like Novasure which have killed many innocent women. Hystersisters in an un-biased sight with good insight!
