Thank God that Pfizer bought Wyeth

Pfizers old, tired, mismanaged portfolio would have killed the company - if not for the acquisition of the well managed Wyeth multiple billion dollar product portfolio now keeping it afloat.

GIVE ME A BREAK!

Just because they bought a company, doesn't mean Pfizer inherits any intelligence.

Pfizer has a unique talent for picking and keeping the worst of management from any company, and liberating (to use the word loosely) the talented managers. Newly acquired company managers learn to fit in and say yes quickly. (All manager's spines must be left at home when you come to work at Pfizer)

If Wyeth was a USS ship in Pearl Harbor, than Pfizer would be Japanese Air force coming in to greet them.

^^ so you agree with the other poster?? Do you practice douchebaggery?

no, i say when given two options, pfizer management will choose the wrong one.
that just cause they bought wyeth doesn't mean they are intelligent, nor will any of wyeth's intelligence rub off on them.

Plus I think you're giving Wyeth Mgt more credit then they deserve, it they were super-smart, then they probably would not have been bought out by Pfizer (it might have been the other way around ).

^^ you do practice douchebaggery! The others poster is saying that Wyeth was running along great....and that Pfizer management will now kill that too. He says nothing about inheriting intelligence. Maybe you should.

What's with the "douchebaggery" stuff? I guess you like a clean intercourse.

If Wyeth was running so great, how did they get bought out by pfizer?

As for wyeth managers, the good ones at Wyeth left , what Pfizer got was the mediocrity.

Wyeth got bought out as Plan C for Pfizer, when their patent cliff was coming, and Plan A and Plan B fell through. Pfizer was in chaos, totally mismanaged, and a reason why McDonalds boy is gone.

Again, the question is not why Pfizer bought Wyeth, we know all that.
Answering that is dodging the base question.

The question is How Wyeth would put themselves in a condition to be bought by Pfizer.
a $70B company, they didn't have to take the offer, or did they? Was their status so good ?
Didn't they investigate what happens to companies taken over ?

They are reaping what they sold their sole for, and Pfizer deservingly getting this scum.

Soul....not sole. Douche.

So what, spell check did me in an i didn't catch it.. big deal

So your a spelling Nazi, okay, big deal .
an you seem to be obsessed with vinegar feminine hygiene products.
maybe because your are a large Nazi Vagina .

the point is still made, and your response is what I would consider worthy of a Pfizer Board member.

This is the first post that I'v seen that someone realizes that Pfizer kept the idiots and freed the hard working ( I made out so well.....thank you Pfizer for saving me by sending me packing involuntarily when I didn't follow my own intuition and went on my own).

Note to folks in charge of mergers, don't listen to the leaders that tell you who to keep interview and find the gems for yourself. All of the Wyeth folks just kept their buddies around regardless of talent. What's been so much fun for me....I left in 2010; is to see those same idiots like Jack Myers and Tom K. can't remember the knuckle heads last name get the ax too. The smarter approach would be to lay off all of the director and above level and watch how well the company works or doesn't work and let the remaining dead weight go.

I love how the Wyeth monkeys keep holding on. Don't loose the dream fuckfaces you may one day wake up and be back at Wyeth. Lets step into the past.

Wyeth a failing company that was so weak it was bought out and then decimated to provided Pfizer with a 3 yr bridge for earnings.

Yes your the best, Pfizer sux, wyeth won....DumbFucks

what? are you in Wisconsin with that retired jerk P.E.?
sold out the employees of Common Engineering in order to get a "Golden Handhake" from the CIO but that is Pfizer management Culture ...

I know who you mean, he was a real tool, made a deal with the devil (the former CIO and his band of looters). He and his wife (K.E.) both got golden handshakes for setting up Common Engineering to fail so the CIO could break it up. So much for the true workers when management keeps steering the boat towards the reef.

Nice! Hope he rots in hell with his money.. His ethics are comparable to Josef Mengele's ethics. I hear he is trying to pretend he is a human now being all political.

Typical Pfizer management...takes their money and runs.
