Gmail at Roche




So far, I must report that the consensus in the US is: it SUCKS. And mightily so.
Their mail format is as scattered as their search results.
The only thing going for it is the size of files that can be transferred and the maximum storage limit, the latter of which is a major liability that will be fun to watch unravel when it is hacked or otherwise used illicitly.
 






You need to run over to the Genentech folks as the gmail was solely their idea and got the upper management to buy into it. Of course it allow them to get rid of more IT folks in the process. That why all the IT jobs in Indy went away. How is that working for you.
 


from a data security perspective it is unbelievable trusting something like GMAIL
implementing such, opens internal mail traffic to Googles tools
ridiculous that something like that happens in a scientific company
