South Carolina shows real class in the wake of all the flooding

We may have our rednecks toting rebel flags and guns, but never have I been more proud to be from South Carolina. No one is sitting around with their hand out blaming FEMA for not working fast enough....and this is a prime example of how things are going in Columbia. (BTW, major parts of Georgetown, SC are being evacuated tonight because the flood waters are expected to hit within the next 12 hours -- )

SC is a great example of a state doing the right things in responding to such epic flooding - Hope all is well with you and all the best in the recovery.

The Piedmont area was really lucky. We were supposed to get 12" of rain last Saturday/Sunday...ended up with 8". And the other thing that helped was that it would rain for a couple of hours, then stop for a couple of hours. The midlands and coast had STRAIGHT hard rain for at least 2 days. Our rain run off in the streams ended up going downstream to the midlands, and that's what caused the dams to fails. A lot of the rivers haven't even crested yet.

More rain this weekend.

I am in awe of Mother Nature.

Good luck with all that mess. Stay dry on the outside Miss D/D. Have a few drinks for the inside.
