Hiring Freeze

Does anyone know how long the hiring freeze is expected to last?

On 5/31 I learned there is a hiring freeze. Does this mean I have to restart the interview process? I completed 3 weeks of interviews and everything seemed to be moving smoothly. The recruiter was not much help when I reached out for guidance; including start and stop dates for the freeze.

The same thing happened to me. I was told by my recruiter back in February that I was selected to move forward with an offer, but due to the hiring freeze, they couldn't extend one to me. I have been waiting since. Thankfully I continued to interview and got an offer with another company. I heard they were going to lift the freeze sometime in May, but then it was extended because of uncertainty in the company, but that's just what I heard from an inside employee. I am not sure what the situation is. I couldn't bank on waiting for them to offer a job...
