Absolutely nothing is happening with CMF. The division is dead and all the major players left long ago. Most of the CMF business that’s left is being carried by the trauma guys. What a travesty JNJ made of this acquisition.

would love to learn a little bit more about this statement. I mean in my metro area they still have quite a bit of market share and are still dedicated cmf guys, not trauma. any innovation or upcoming new tech at all?

There aren't a lot of dedicated CMF Reps left, so your area is not the norm. JNJ would rather have Reps carry more in their bags and eliminate headcount and the various benefit costs associated with them. As each good CMF Rep leaves their business is offered to the local Trauma Rep as an opportunity to increase their income without increasing their geography.

Same goes for spine. When all the top talent left spine they offered spine positions to the trauma and total joint guys. Needless to say, it’s been a total failure. None of the vacated spine positions are filled with existing talent. Nobody with any talent or surgeon relationships and business are even looking at JNJ anymore. Hence the -10 percent growth numbers in that division.

Lets face it, very little (if anything) JJG has brought to the table (forced) on sales leadership has worked. Rate change from 12.5% to 11.0% ? Nope. Quintiles Reps ? I don't think so. Add 4 AVPs and 24 RMs (in Trauma) ? Hard to say that's increased the top line enough to offset the incremental cost. Cross Selling ? Minimal impact. Alliances ? Not bad, but not something Synthes Legacy had not done in the past (MTF). The next head to roll should be JJG's, He's "got nothing".

They really should blow the whole thing up and start over. The lies, cuts, losses, and morale call for it. At this point it’s not even worth trying to save. The fact that people still choose to work there is unimaginable. Once a great company, simply destroyed.

Do CMF reps get a lot of unexpected weekend calls? Considering a position.

If you dont want to work weekends then you probably dont want to work before 6am or after 3pm. Im out the door at 6:30 every morn and get home late on most days. And CMF is the easy job ( and better one) compared to trauma.
