I have the same interest. I’ve been looking online at recruiter job postings. All of them want at least 3 years full cycle recruiting experience. So that’s the upfront obstacle. Don’t know how to get around that. I think I’d be good at it and just need to get in front of someone to convince them I can do the job. Just need to be taught the job like I was taught the job of pharmaceutical sales rep years ago. I have a good transferable skill set.

How hard is it to be a recruiter? The Industry just needs bodies, not skills...Look who the recruiters hire. They hire friends and friends of friends. They over look people that would actually be good for the job. There is No skill in being a recruiter just look at Linkedin..The entire feed is recruiters posting anymore.

Besides the job is a 1099 job, the reason why you need 3 years years experience is because the current recruiters do NOT want the competition! So they wrote the job description to keep you out and make it virtually impossible to get in. You think they want you eating off their plate?

1099 - not so in all situations.

Skills - computer, calls, organization, knowing how to scan a resume, know real skills of the job you are filling. Blah blah blah...

    Too much sitting.....
