The Ugly: Worst training Worst healthcare family benefits ($650 plus monthly for shitty benefits) Contract can be pulled at ANYTIME (NO STABILITY) You're charged $$ Bi-Weekly for company car use Non-Supportive Management 1-2 Conference calls weekly Bonus Plans are usually garbage Base Salaries below the industry standard Micro-Managed with busy work Minimal PTO time The Good: You're employed
Is this true for all contracts? In the process of interviewing for a Janssen contract. Says it's two years, is it likely to end before that?
I have been on a contract for a few years and came from direct pharma. I don't see a big difference between the two minus the fact that contract can end at anytime. Even if they tell you it's a 2 year contract, it can still end. If you aren't in a position to take this risk, don't do it. But if you are, then it can be a good gig. Pharma lays off constantly, so what's the difference really? Pharma isn't stable whether you do contract or direct. I make the same salary base in contract as I did in direct pharma. I see people make less in contract and I see people make more. It depends on the contract. If you can't afford $150 a month to pay for the car, then contract isn't for you. Look elsewhere. It's a choice. No one says you have to work contract. But there are a lot of things that are better in contract that make it worth it. My counterparts from the direct company have way more meetings and admin work than I do. Micromanagement: I don't think this is Syneos. I think it's based on your manager, just like any pharma company. It's the luck of the draw. I have a great manager who treats us like adults. But I hear horror stories from other districts. Bonus plan: You see what the bonus plan is during the interview. If you don't like it, why take the job? The one I have is in line with most pharma companies. If it wasn't the money I was looking for, I would have walked away. Why take the job knowing how much it pays then complain that it's low? Bottom line, there are good contracts and bad contracts. Just like there are good pharma jobs and bad ones. Do your research before signing on.
So you’re bitching about 25 cents a day? I think that says more about you than it does Syneos All of the other stuff is totally true though
Syneos has been good to me over the years. I've also been hired by a company where I started off on a Syenos/inVentiv contract. Pharma companies also charged a fee to use the company car. Maybe it's just because I'm not a twenty-something and realize that it gets harder and harder to get hired as we age, but I am grateful for Syneos! If you don't like contract work, then don't apply for one of their jobs
Listen to yourself. $150 a month for gas. Car, insurance, upkeep, etc.... all taken care of. Car that is 3 years old. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is considered pretty new to most people. I can only assume you are an entitled millennial. Either that or an old time pharma person that has lost perspective.
invokana is dead, xarelto is dying. jnj just paid 700+ million to settle 25k xarelto lawsuits. lol syneos laid off 40% of the janssen team 6 months ago. this contract ain't lasting 2 more year bubby. I'll be surprised if it makes it to july.
perhaps you need some fact checking: Invokana is getting a new indication Xarelto continues to be one of the top prescription medications in the US Contracts come and go at anytime. These drugs won’t go anywhere
lol invokana got a new indication about 7 months ago... howd that work out for us? and if you think xarelto is going to magically reverse direction after losing ground to eliquis for the last ever, then you more power to ya kiddo. I remember my first cso job too, but I still dont think I was this naive.
Quarterly Results | Johnson & Johnson xarelto is actually down 6% yoy and invokana is down 24% yoy. again, it's ok kiddo, I remember my first cso job too.
been on this contract since the beginning, survived 2 layoffs. and the big one is coming. big wigs have already said that the 2.5 dose is the only hope for xarelto... and if that's the case the end is near. somethings got to give.
