Ok, hiring a lot more reps to sell this great drug, and all some of you want to do is complain and bitch, so quit now so the ones who want to make this co. great can. I love it and think this drug will continue to sell well, despite all you nay-sayers. So make my DAY...and quit you....Punks!

you idiots won’t think it’s so great when they bring the new reps in at a higher base pay because they realize they can’t get the talent they need at that salary to actually make this a billion dollar drug. You can think the drug and Amarin are so great all you want. Money talks. Pharma is a rollercoaster and any rep worth their weight in salt will be getting offers constantly with base salaries in the six figures. Until this company realizes they are hiring a quality of rep reflective of the salary, it will continue to flounder.

This is a good company, and Vascepa is really doing great. It will do even better when the PI changes. I think many people would like to have your jobs. You can make good money and benefits. I sold Lipitor and Crestor in my career and loved it. This drug's data is "Clearly" better on outcomes. I was on the Crestor marketing team before it was launched since I was a top seller of Lipitor for Parke-Davis. There were about 10 reps across the country, and we wanted to say..."How low can you go with Crestor" meaning LDL. Since the NCEP guidelines came out and said lower was better at the time. But the marketing team at the home office came up with....don't laugh "Ride the Wave with Crestor" a man on a surf board. We could not believe it. We all say really? Well that lasted 3 months in the field, then they went with ours.
Go figure! Loved selling heart meds and loved calling on the CD's! I have some great ideas for Vascepa.

the product is not that good for those of use that understand the science.
but, the public is stupid, so it looks good to them.

The over 5 years of Prove-it says it reduces MI's and events on TOP of the statins, you can't get much better news than that. You need to quit so someone can do the selling. Just a thought. Hope you find a job you like.

We know the science that is why we know this product will be a blockbuster. You obviously don’t know the science .

^this. But Amarin needs to offer higher base salaries to attract the caliber of rep that will maximize the potential of this drug.

So what if they can afford to hire more experienced reps at a higher base pay. They will get what they pay for. Current employees will likely get a bump in pay as sales continue to improve. 885 year over year sales before label expansion is fantastic. They will compensate current employees when they prove themselves and do a great job. That is how great companies do it. Full steam ahead.

Or....they prove themselves and get poached by a company willing to pay a competitive salary.

Give it up JS. You'll be fired soon enough.

You can't even properly formulate a grammatically correct sentence. You're going to talk about science and call people stupid? The irony is hurting my eyes.

Yup, and 1000 more reps will be right there to fill the spot. This is where the company currently is. If they ever get to Phizer size, they can pay Phizer salaries...

You can’t overpay a high performer

What is a high performer in pharma? Someone who resides in NJ, NY, FL, CA, TX...all of which are highly populated with better managed care access. Yep, those are always the high performers.

Exactly. And patients have money to afford branded meds in these areas

Each territory has an index of potential based on access to doctors and formulary coverage. A high performer routinely surpasses that index.

So you are one of those territory makes the rep versus the rep makes the territory.

What about a rep in California (a state you mentioned) who routinely outperforms other reps in that state? Did they have some advantage over others as well?

Why is it some people bend over backwards to resist stratifying people based on performance?

How is the individual’s performance measured in a territory that is mirrored?

You are clearly one of 3 types of people.

    1) new to pharma
    2) drink the koolaid and believe what is told to you
    3) middle management who passes down the koolaid.

These territories perform at almost every pharma gig, regardless of the person in the territor . You will watch some of these territories turn over and the next rep will perform too, and again, and again, and again.
