The real culprits were the insurance companies that paid for and covered the meds, they all have MRO’s and they put on formulary

Why don't you go back and objectively read the facts and statistics regarding Oxy. You have them all wrong, prob still drinking the koolaid.

In fact, in the late '90's, early 2000's, it was none other than Christopher Sposato that created the rallying cry for the entire country: "Dr, what's the highest dose of Ozycontin you currently have a patient on? Once the rep got that # from each doc, they were instructed to "teach" the doc they need to titrate 100% if the patient is still in pain. This, with many other "brilliant marketing ploys" devised by Sposato is what got the doses of Oxy into the thousands of mg every day (in a single patient).

Fisher then rolled out these ideas throughout the nation.

Not to mention all the payoffs to the AAPM, APS. State Federation Boards, etc.

Portnoy (1 of Purdue's highest paid speakers) has retracted everything he ever said on behalf of Purdue.

I’ll add giving the reps studies that we found out years later had no scientific backing but were touted by all the pain organizations and speakers that Purdue paid off! Also reps with one zip code because the dollar volume in that zip was so high!

 

And not one of you ever left the company because you thought you were doing the wrong thing and now you are suddenly blaming everyone else. This was a good company trying to do the right thing and you were all part of it.

 

You don't know what you're talking about. There were several of us that left at the height of bonus money pouring in. All because we realized the company was full of it.

What ever happened to Pamela Bennett, the "MSL Extraordinaire", who taught so many reps bulls*it...and who consulted with so many patients, most of whom are dead from overdoses (wonder how many deaths she's responsible for).

Interesting that Russ Gasdia has removed all traces of Purdue from his LinkedIn account. Many others have removed all traces of Oxycontin or even pain management or opioids from their LinkedIn accounts.

Guess they're all really proud of the roles they played in Purdue's addicting of America. Too bad they made millions of dollars!

 

Many of them followed each other to Pfizer or other places now with their millions. Guilty conscience or were they doing the right thing to help patients?
