So when is Horizon's Great Layoff? The corporate property market bubble is crashing, what to do with Timmy's wet dream in Deerfield? What a clusterf*ck of a company. Hopefully Amgen did their due diligence.

Why would they lay off? People are leaving already and Amgen will thin the heard over 12-18 months after they get their hooks in us.
our leaders don’t truly know what Amgen is planning and are just filling the void with BS. Amgen bought us for revenue, not overhead.

Our overhead is very minimal. You clearly dont know anything about biotech P&L statements.
You either look at things from too large of a perspective by failing to understand the concept that “it all adds up” and that there is something called opportunity cost and/or you fail to understand the arrogance of human beings, especially those in an executive position in this industry.
Yes, Amgen leadership is taking the time to understand what we do. You can’t improve upon anything if you don’t understand how it works. It has been stated by Amgen leadership MANY times verbally AND in writing that the goal is to take what they do best and what we do best and merge them together. That is the opposite of leaving us as is. You underestimate the arrogance of executive leaders if you think that they will just be so impressed with how we do things that they will not want to make any changes. Right off the bat - is Amgen adopting our yearly stock grant amount of ESPP program? Nope. You also seem to fail to understand that they are measured on making us MORE profitable - not maintaining profitability. The goal of any company is to be as profitable as possible - to maximize profits. No one is going to say “well, we’re really profitable as is, so let’s just keep paying for things/people that we don’t think we need because it won’t make that much of a dent to our overall P&L ”. If that were the case, companies would never have restructurings that result in small layoffs. Amgen has restructures resulting in small head count reductions REGULARLY - 10, 20, 30 people at a time, as do most large companies, especially in pharma. That money all adds up in the long run. There are a plethora of ways that you can get the same result with less resources now and when the acquisition is complete. Home office is obviously full of people that will be redundant once the acquisition is complete…in finance, accounting, HR, fleet, compliance/legal, training, marketing, R&D, IT, etc. Even right now in commercial RM is telling people that neph is not doing enough business to justify the expansion and that there is not enough coming from rheum to justify the referral reps. Plus, there’s the opportunity cost. It’s not just how much each little savings adds up to eventually, it’s the fact that it can be used to make exponentially more money…from investing in R&D or licensing of other products or a hundred other things.
I don’t know if you are extremely young and inexperienced or a complete idiot, but we will not be left alone, things will not stay the same, and there WILL be layoffs.
They need our marketing team. They create the demand for our products! anyone close to the product should be safe for at least a year or more.
It’s true loser!such a marketer thing to say.

No one thinks we "will be left alone". No one. Not on one of these threads. Reduction of the sales team is probably not going to happen across any division. Reduction in legal, HR, marketing, security, finance, etc. of course.
First of all, yes, there are comments on here of people thinking that we will be left alone. So, please do your research.
As far as your prediction regarding layoffs, what is the point in coming on here to say it without addressing one single fact given in as support of layoff vs no layoff? Just so we know that there’s one more loser in denial that refuses to face reality? Sweet. Thanks.
If you think.you will be laid off or that amgen sucks find another job. What is the point to any of your posts? Do you think you are changing options on cafe pharma? Your communication and persuasion skills need work.
