This is nothing more than a money grab/embezzlement of company resources paid to the Walbert crime family. How do field sales folks think about this? You bust your humps every day for a company that effectively lavishes embezzled money to family members and some dipshit (likely an ugly red headed man from Chicago) gives your money to his wife? I'm going to make just under 500k this year as "just a rep". Last year for my RSU grant I was awarded 95k in stock. I've cashed in close to 2 million in stock prior to all of this. I feel great about everything Walbert has done for my family. The only thing that is a shit deal is that our RSU's that havent vested get moved to Amgen stock vs. just being paid out at close.

My biggest concern is how can I keep this level of income going.

My biggest concern is how can I keep this level of income going.


you can't. I was a top producer at Celgene. I simply produced, won trips and they left me alone. I didn't make what you made, but I made $125k a year in bonus and as just an executive rep I made $75k a year in equity awards on top of my near $190 salary. So ball park $400k a year. EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I made $1.5 on my equity when BMY drove up the price.

my first year at Amgen, they cut the equity award to $3000. That's right, I didn't miss a zero. I won the trip to Hawaii as well. Had to fly coach. Anyway, my bonus went down to $42k a year in 2020 and about the same in 2021. My raise was a lump sum. Didn't go into salary.

Bottom line, you are screwed. Amgen is super cheap on pay. Worse on equity. VPs at Amgen don't get $75k a year.

The good news, is that you don't have to do anything. Here's the recipe:

1-open and clear ALERTS. Of course useless and you can "clear" them at Panera.
2-send a bunch of RTEs. Paneras as well.
3- do 3 lunches a week and enter calls on everyone in the office.
4- before leaving for the week on Thursday's make sure to enter the calls you need to ensure your capped call frequency and percent of targets at frequency are correct. TO loves that shit even if they don't understand it.
5- use at least 10 emojis per web ball. That shit is tracked.
6-speak the language of whatever the current selling model is. It will pay off at calibration.

Thanks for the advice! I don't think many of us plan on sticking around long at Amgen. Once the bonus is officially cut management will leave and take reps with them. Maybe no company pays what Horizon has but definitely many of them pay more than Amgen.

I'm surprised you would stick around. Surely you could have gotten a job selling an biologic, got a little raise on your salary and more bonus + RSU? Celgene paid great for sure.
