Anyone have to take psych testing from Rembrandt?

I had to take what I would call a psych test from Rembrandt Advantage and wanted to know if anyone else has had to take it. What did you think about the test? Iknow of some good reps that failed the thing and some others that did lousy at their job that passed. Just shows that they are not fail proof.

Those sorts of tests are sort of easy to trick if you know that you are supposed to show yourself as an expressive person who works hard. They also have repeatinig questions that they want to see if you are answering consistently.

The questions are always like

If you are at a party do you?
Stay in the corner? NO
YOU ARE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY! Thats the answer.

I passed a similiar test to that years ago and faked all of the answers because I knew what they were looking for.

Before you take these tests, you might want to ask yourself the following:

do I really want to work for an organization that subjects me to this stuff?

I mean most of us that apply for these jobs have good work ethic. We did good in school. We have results from other jobs. We are professional. We dress good. We talk good.

Tell ya what. The next company that I interview for, that has me taking this crap, I am going to take back my application because they don't value the other stuff I have done in my life, and to hire me or not based on a jerkoff test is a joke. Quite frankly, they can go fuck themselves.

It's not a test! There is not a right or wrong answer. It shows areas where you are strong, average and areas where you need improvement. It could be communication skills, critical thinking, decision making, etc.

The test also shows deception based on your pattern of answers. Why would you not want to be honest? The only reason would be you aren't confident in your abilities. If you lied and ended up getting the position, you don't have the necessary skills and you would not be successful.

There are 3 outcomes from most personality profiles. Recommend, recommend with reservations and do not recommend. The majority of people are recommend w/ reservations. It recommends them for the position and shows areas that the employer can help you improve upon.

If people were only that easy to figure out. *These tests in my opinion are used to cover the hiring managers asses. *So Joe Blow turned out to be a bad hire despite passing the personality test. *Can't blame HR or the hiring manager because the test indicated Joe to be a good fit. *A test cannot replace years of proven job performance. *What good is earning a degree and working hard at your job and being successful when at the end of the day the personality test is the ultimate deciding factor? *If anything, I am envious I am not selling these tests to corporate HR departments. *Yes I can game them and so can anyone else - what's the point? *I've taken them all - Rembrandt, Caliper, Gallup, CCI, etc. *Test my urine, test my personality, check my credit, driving record, references, linkedin and facebook profiles, make me take a mini gmat/iq test...what will they think of next? *Gattica? *Sheesh!

these tests are completely freaking stupid. The above post is correct they ask the same questions a few times but but in a slightly different way. There are right and wrong answers. If you are in sales you just answer what they want to hear.youre very outgoing, competitive, money hungry etc. It gives asshole dumb paper pushing HR idiots something to do. Human resource assholes......please dont even get me started. I hate them!! useless pieces of shit.

If you think that most people answer these questions honestly, that is pretty funny. Nearly all of us are college educated. So, we know how to take tests. We know there is a strategy involved. With the help of the internet, we have access to ways to "study" for tests even like this.

I took a test like that for a mjaor drug company and bombed it. Was not allowed to proceed...

And yet, shortly thereafter I landed a device sales job making 175 grand a year in a bad year to 200 during an okay year to 250k in a very good year. So much for that test.

All the hiring manager cared about was "what have you sold? How much had you sold? How much were the products you sold? what was your ranking?"

So spare me the "you are not qualified" because you failed the test. I also did pretty shitty on the SAT to be quite honest. And yet I still make more than nearly all the eggheads I know that I saw at my high school reunion who got in the top 20 percent.

And I am willing to bet I make more money then most of the these "congenial and go-getter types" that can ace a test about being gregarious and friendly. Guess what, real sales is all about results. That is it. All they should care about in "Real sales" is "what have you done and how much money have you made the last 5 years." I showed my numbers and they spoke for themselves.

couldnt have said this better myself!! these tests are a dumb joke. Any real sales person might actually flunk!!!! They prove nothing. Or wait......they do prove something. I can't sell shit, I am good at ass kissing and company politics, I don't actually know how to sell anything: I am good at pharmaceutical sales!!
