Another internet hero full of bullshit. TEEU has no such thing.

They'll get offered the same as SIPTU if redundancy's do come along

The same poor offer initially but due to the average fitters high sense of self-worth, they will be very reluctant to sell out cheaply and volunteer for it. Remember how many went in the last redundancy 5 years ago? Exactly zero.

You obviously don't work in the same factory as the rest of us. There were a number of people that took it.

Great comment, yes the techs in the WF plant are funny.
Most of them walk around as if they're in bad humor and grunt down the phones at operators that have to ring them to report a machine fault.
They actually think they're something that they're not - well educated, you could train a monkey to do most of the jobs under their work load.
Not all of them are bad thought, there are a few very decent lads there who really know their stuff while most of the rest of them mask their lack of ability with aggression in the hope that the operators will call the "Other Fella" on duty.
They think they're the bees knees but in reality, they're laughed at daily by the operators for the way they carry on.

couldnt agree more, most of the technicians are fcuking useless with their heads up their asses, sure God love them.
The only ones that think they're special is themselves

You guys need to take care of your own business never mind what techs are doing, maybe start your own "redundancy committee" so you dont get walked on and ripped off like the last redundancy.

that must be a certain someone in HR, trying to take the focus off redundancy committees, especially a SIPTU one. They can't have the riff-raff thinking about this stuff, they might end up with a fair deal when the inevitable happens. And do not think this doesn't concern every member because it will come to us all within the next few years.

At least the paddies fight for something worth fighting about, unlike ourselves in the U.S. who'd rather fight the Iraqis and the afghans supposedly in the name of PEACE when all it really is is to get control of the oil supply and will sacrifice our youngsters in the process

12 staff gone in Wfd today, across most functions but not R&D. Some of them had expressed an interest in leaving for the redundancy package, some of them had not. Number is about 1% of total site employees.

You Irish Paddies - this past week there was an emergency meeting on Waterford in New Jersey , the same day when approx 60 people were let go in Rochester. The subject of this urgent meeting was shut down of Waterford, Valeant wants to target August 2014 and the pathetic BL leaders are saying if will take 3 yrs, easy decision here, WF is gone in Q3-2014 and that is unfortunate.

As soon as expansion of Rochester manufacturing was announced it was writing on the wall for the end of Waterford. And it will happen a lot sooner than most realize. Probably by end of 2014 at the latest.
