CH is clearly out of depth .. going backwards from the progress made .. Cali Dave doesn’t look too bad now … no clear IT strategy leads to this plus loss of key leaders
Dave had a vision, but only partially completed. CH is just cut cost and thinks AI will replace everything.
CH doesn't get that AZ is a whole order of magnitude more complex than her previous place. Making shampoo is not the same as discovering medicines. If we didn't need genomic databases, biological tissue imaging, clinical trial management, or even a system to manage the complexity of international medicine pricing, then we could simplify IT. There's massive underlying complexity in the business which is why IT is big. Not a disaster waiting to happen, but a disaster that is happening.
The strategy appears to be a big central data processing department #OneIT with a few novel showcase ideas on the side. Directionally shifting IT away from the business it should be trying to enable. 99% of the comms is about themes and strategy and me but no technology plan, no business impact.
CH is mess leader. No one wants to be AZ IT. AAB lost best people from R&D IT leadership, but she knows PC. Enabling doesn’t work under RS / all comms no impact. few remaining good folks can’t wait to be off. DA was indeed much better.
