left Amgen in 2015. Local T.O. Job w better benefits 8k higher pay and stock.
And I love the job and the people. Blood pressure is down, marriage is better.

Believe it will work out. Catch your breath, go to the job assistance if offered. They knew their shit.
    And take care.

Agree. Take a deep breath and exhale it will all be OK. You are not the first or the last employee to be RIFed at Amgen. It is not your fault, now get up and do something about it.

Take care of yourself and family first - leverage what you can with a package and benefits offered. The more tenure and 50+ you are the more negotiations.

READ all the paperwork you are required to sign and make sure you understand it and the implications to you and your family. You may want to review with an attorney if there are any questions/issues you can not resolve.

Sign the paperwork, turn in your Amgen property and leave - don't look back. Network, network and network. Take your prior experience and transfer it to other industries or other pharma/biotech.

Unfortunately relocation is most likely in the cards, there are only a few similar job options in the greater TO/LA area. (On the positive side, this is a good time to get out of the TO real estate market and you will likely make money on your home sale.)

Prepare for a 6-12 month job search depending on your level - that's what it takes now days and its the same for all of us. Just treat the job search like a full time job, love your family and yourself - take care of yourself.

    You will be OK.

Congratulations! You are out of this hell hole. Good luck!
