What is the right answer to this interview question?

I've been making the interview rounds as of late and this question has come up in one form or another:

Are you currently entertaining any other offers? are you interviewing with anyone else? Are you actively in the process of another interview?

So what do you say? "No, I do not have any other offers or prospects"

hmmm...doesn't that make this company wonder why they are interviewing a loser like this?

or:

"Yes! I have a bunch of different offers and I'm shopping around for the best deal"

This company thinks it's a waste of time to pursue someone most likely going to go elsewhere


whats the right answer?

 

I personally feel honesty is the best policy. If you have other offers on the table, it allows you to negotiate better. If you don’t, then show your excitement for the position, and demonstrate why you are the best choice for the job!
