They stick it to you with their pricing and act like you owe it to them. Then they manipulate the GPO contracts to get sole source by giving a big rebate. Their reps will steal boxes from your storage area and then tell you that you need to re-order. My favorite was when my rep explained to me that a plant burned down and I had to order a big quantity otherwise they would be on backorder. Really?

i doubt your story, nobody is that dumb. if that is a true story you should have called HR immediately and reported that person. Bard takes ethical behavior seriously, we are trained to death on not breaking any laws. the competition continues to make claims off label which is sad for the customer and patients.

Hahaha! Ethics?! Define bards standard of ethics?

How many sales meetings have you been to? Ethics?! We have no ethics, we do whatever it takes to grow business! Lol, ethics!
 




Would you leave a $125k/yr job (device) in a mid market city for a TM roll with Bard Vascular Access? Would appreciate any thoughtful responses.

I'd rather be a toll collector, than work for the cyborgs at bard... they pump themselves up to make up for the lack of compensation, (amongst other things)... super hardcore micro managers
 


Hi. Currently interviewing for a job in Access. Has culture, pay, or Phy buy in changed since last posts in 2014? Trying to figure out current climant of business in 2018. Who’s the biggest competition right now?
 




I also am trying to find more current information. All these posts are old. Can you tell me who owns the market? Is it still Bard? Who is the biggest competitor? IS VA a good gig? Is this more of a commodity sell?
 


Leadership has developed a culture of micromanagement. They’re not bad people and the products are the best in the market, but they are constantly looking over their shoulders and this has trickled down to the regional business managers. Not much autonomy and freedom to do your job without being told how to do it. Just letting you know, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Hire the right people and then get out of their way. That’s what good managers do.
 




Not positive, but know it is less than before. BD, who bought Bard and closed the deal Dec 2017, instituted all of their changes and new programs as of Dec 2018. I've heard from others that total comp is down with the new plans.
 




Well that is a loaded question. I know someone making 140 and another making 300. No one on this board will be making the high end.

No joke, some will be lucky to make 80 grand and are working like slaves. Only a matter of time before they move on to something better. Having been with other companies where I worked literally half as hard and got paid drastically more, I can tell you - there are better options out there.

Leadership will tell you that there’s a lot of money to be made and you aren’t working hard enough, but that’s a bunch of BS. The truth is, the company can afford to pay a low base salary and high commissions because there is a disparity between reps who knock it out of the park and then those who do not. We all know sometimes it’s about being in the right place at the right time, and not about how hard you work. When it’s all said and done, it all evens out. You may have some really great paying months followed by months of little to no commissions. I hate to say it but I think the glory days of making 300k and up are over. If you’re right out of school or ADP, you might think this job is the end all be all, but there are a lot of medical device companies out there who sell more respected product lines.

This from management. Troll the boards but fail to address the issues because they are the issue

they are weak and unethical. Reality bites

Turnover is real, it happens because of poor leadership.

leaders focused on lining their pockets. Leaders focused on taking shortcuts. Leaders not focused on doing the right thing. Leaders not focused on the customer.
 




Is it just me or did our latest C2C say we should not be visiting hospitals unless we have exhausted all remote options? If that’s the case, why is Bard leadership pressuring us to go into hospitals and tarnish reputations when BD leadership is saying stay at home?
