Ok, so today I talked to yet another fellow inVentiv, Syneos whatever this company is called now. Our stories where they same. We were both in shock. The inVentiv recruiter had told us the same thing about a job posting in our individual territory, I cant help you I am working on something else but I will let the other recruiter know.
Ok, really? I have posted for over 15 jobs in my territory in 1.5 years I have not even received a call for a screening??? If you have a story lets share the voice needs to be out there and maybe someone higher up will put pressure on the recruiters to look inside before looking out. This is crap.

Amazing 48 views and no one says anything guess you all get calls and help. Good for you. Now someone will say something clever but again if no one says anything nothing will change

My situation is similar to yours. Very little help from my recruiter (I did get 2 phone screens) after applying for 15-20 openings the past year. As a representative in good standing, like you, I can’t understand the lack of effort to place us in job openings. Very disappointing!

Most have moved on from future employment with inVentiv or Syneos. Their Recruiters sell you into considering a position on a contract with them by stating, “don’t worry, we have many contracts, so if and when yours ends, we will work hard to find another contract to place you.” It’s just not true! I know of Hundreds that had their contract end and could not get Anyone in Recruiting to call them back or consider them for another position. All were very talented and had positive referrals from their managers/directors. Most have found positions themselves with other contract companies or with direct hire positions with manufacturers. inVentiv’s loss is their gain. Good luck to All!

This company should be done within 10 years, and the #1 reason is their failure to retain talent and treat their employees with respect.

I have to say this has happened as well.
It seems that working for a CSO gives you a stigma to employers and then when you compete even for another contract, that stigma is carried into the contract interviews!
Syneos and other CSOs all do nothing to keep people employed. Is longevity a liability financially with these companies?

I can give feedback on two recruiters --- If it is now against state law to ask a candidate for their salary history; then it is against the law for you to ask a candidate for their salary history.
Stop doing it.

I had two face to face interviews and they never even notified me if the job had been filled. This company is so unprofessional. You have to wonder if the companies they represent have any idea how bad they are.

I was invited for a cattle call face to face. The woman running it requested my salary history (even though everyone knows it is illegal to do so). I told her I was not comfortable sharing it.
She told me that I could either disclose my salary history or not meet with the hiring manager.
Nasty black woman does not know the law or does not go by it.
This happens regularly to candidates.

Whos the nasty, evil, devils doing the hiring??

The concerns made in this post are a very real problem with the new Syneos Health and it happens at the management level also. At inVentiv, I used to at least get recruiters to respond when a job opening posted. Now it is rare for anyone to reply to an e mail much less answer the phone. Very little effort is made to find good employees new positions when a contract goes down. I am not at all impressed with the new company.

I am concerned that Syneos is not gaining a significant number of new contracts. This is a problem. In addition, when the few field sales postions are posted, I get almost no help from my recruiter. We should be thier first call to fill the opening since we have the most experience and would be a natural fit. I get the impression that I am bothering them when I call about the job. Should anyone have ideas about how to deal with this a get to the point of a face to face interview, please share your thoughts??

Recruiters work FOR the company not the applicant.... There is is HUGE oversupply of former reps all with good to great backgrounds, not to mention the newbies from outside pharma...Contract recruiters get the alarm to hire X hundred of reps within a few weeks...take the time to visit all those LI rep profiles...they literally all start sounding the same with same buzz words...work the people who can influence the recruiters..its still about who you know

To the last poster (who sounds like a Syneos recruiter), When a sales position posts and it is an internal job at Syneos Health, priority no longer appears to be given to former inVentiv employees. This did not used to be the case. Many of us would not have accepted a contract position at inVentiv/Syneos Health, knowing the job was temporary, if we knew we would be just one in the crowd when a new position posted. Just something to think about.

It’s your perception. Your experience is different than what I see. The contract I am on is full of Syneos lifers.

Syneos recruiters seem to just need to produce "bodies" for the hiring manager. They put in little effort and rarely respond, even when you thought you had an established relationship with them.

The Syneos recruiters are very unprofessional. This is an understatement. They can’t even bother to reply back to an email inquiry or explain the application process to a current internal candidate in good standing.

On another note, many in my FSP were laid off late July. Director states in conference call there are over 200 open CRA positions?! Yea right, if that was true they wouldn’t have trouble placing 15 experienced CRAs.
