Nepotism Running Wild at Novartis

ABL in FL gets favors and protection for his incompetent TAS son working in FL. This has been going on way too long. RDs and multiple ABLs refuse to doing anything about it. Son should have been on a PIP and fired a couple years back. He has been kicked out of several offices, been given extra sick days approved (20+), and allowed to submit and get approved false bereavement time during the holiday season. Speak up is useless due to fear of retribution by ABLs. Nepotism is bad for business and bad for Novartis.

Novartis has unlimited sick days, but o.k.

The reason successful isn’t recognized at Novartis is the army of ABLs playing the smoke and mirrors game. If you are a rep who works and is successful, you threaten their mediocre performance. Join them or leave.

I think I know who this is. I was in his training class 3+ years ago. We were all surprised he even made it out training. Nice kid but sales is not his calling.

Doesn't surprise me. Dez gets his wife hired at Novartis, lots of examples of Nepotism all over Novartis. Many examples of family members getting hired when they are not the best candidate or underqualified for the position. In this case, all the ABLs should have handled the matter better. I'm assuming the RD has no clue what is going on.

This post is ridiculous and over embellished. I know who you are talking about and this stuff is not true. Why do people have to be so mean? Just go do your job and stop worrying about everyone else.

Sounds like an ABL trying to push the problem under the rug. Its not about being mean, its about doing what is right.

If the ABLs are hiding the incompetence and unwilling to do anything about this rep, the simple solution is to have the RD do a 1-2 day field ride along with the rep. If what is being claimed is true, I'm sure it will be seen during the ride along.

How delusional are you people? Once a person is hired it’s almost impossible to get rid of them. DUI, blatantly stealing on expense reports is about it and even then it takes months to get rid of them. Like a regional is going to ride with them. Hysterical.

After more than 50% of the field force got let go recently, I say stop worrying about what other people are doing and be happy that you have a job. Dez hired his wife, an RD's rep kid isn't as smart as you. Whatever. Take off early on Friday and go golfing if it makes you feel better. Good grief.

Nepotism is cancer that runs deep within the organization. Most people in leadership here are the poster children who facilitate it. That’s why they get defensive and nasty when it’s brought up. Without it they could not function in their roles.

Easy for you to say. If we were on individual goals, this would not be an issue!
